>people actually think that's 8 core ryzen will be under $300
screenshot this, ryzen will only be slightly less than its kabylake equivalents
if you get angry for the price of ryzen, it's your own fucking fault. get realistic expectations
I have a Phenom II X2 which can be overclocked to 4.0GHz, have it at 3.0GHz now. I have no reason to upgrade.

Why would anyone use server 2016 over Windows 10 as a desktop OS?
I don't know. Why would they?
>>58081374
supposedly less telemetry
this is a popular trend with chinamen
it's actually a form of cargo cult computing. they believe server is more 'luxurious' and because of that prefer it to windows 10.
>The IBMPetition.org effort has been spearheaded in part by IBM cybersecurity engineer Daniel Hanley, who told The Intercept he started organizing with his coworkers after reading Rometty’s letter. “I was shocked, of course,” Hanley said, “because IBM has purported to espouse diversity and inclusion, and yet here’s Ginni Rometty in an unqualified way reaching out to an admin whose electoral success was based on racist programs.” The petition now has 51 signees, which is a tiny fraction of the company’s enormous global staff, but to date has circulated only privately. The full IBMPetition.org letter can be read below:
>We are disappointed that IBM CEO Ginni Rometty’s open letter to President-elect Donald Trump does not affirm IBMers’ core values of diversity, inclusiveness, and ethical business conduct. For our mutual aid and protection, we call on IBM to expand diversity recruitment programs, and we assert our right to refuse participation in any U.S. government contracts that violate constitutionally protected civil liberties. We call on IBM to demonstrate commitment to our Business Conduct Guidelines and to prevent perceived influence peddling through Trump affiliated businesses. Lastly, in the present context of insecurity and unpredictability, we call on IBM to return to our traditions of high worker retention and morale by making retirement plans equitable once again.

It's almost like IBM wants to stop being competitive. They've already sold off most of what defined the company, and shifted away from the consumer market to enterprise, and now they're potentially going to reject a US contract (albeit there's only around 100 signatories).
IBM must have some kind of curse, that or they hire the least motivated people possible.

Is this a serious question?
I just got this old B&O MX 5000 television. It's a pretty crap TV, but it works. The remote is gone though, and that makes it basically useless. Does anyone know how to reprogram a remote or maybe hack it so you can switch input?
There is such thing as universal remotes
>>58081194
We have one, but it did not seem to work. My plan was testing more on it.
with the logitech remotes you go online and search for your tv model and update the remote, might be lucky to find old tvs like that though idk
I just bought a new monitor, the xr341ck. Im getting these visual anomalies and it just looks bad imo. Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?
Forgot to mention that it happens in everything. Youtube, netflix, vlc, overwatch, etc.
It's called video compression
that's nothing to do with hardware, it looks like compression artifacts.

I like that idea. They should shrink all cards.
>>58081142
I really hope we can finally get away from this culture of massive Graphics cards that's taken over for almost a decade. It's nearly impossible to find decent low profile gpu's that aren't price gouged to rediculous levels. And if we could get back to single slot cards would be even better!
I'm willing to sacrifice a goddamn dvi port so I can have a slim and short card for my htpc, I just don't want some shitty gt 730 or an over-priced gtx-750 ti.
Maybe the 1050 ti will be reasonably priced in its half-height configuration, but I'm not holding my breath.

I deffo like the mini version with the slim cooler.
I feel sorry for them now since they even know how we steal their software :(

How much are you paying for your mobile plan and what is included in it? (Minutes, texts, data) also include location/provider.

>£15 a month (roughly 20-25usd)
4GB Data, 1000 minutes, unlimited texts.
>Paying an extra £19 a month for Nexus 6P
I can upgrade to everything unlimited for £5 more but the problem is, they restrict your data speed to 256Kilobytes a second after you go over 6GB a month.
How much are you paying /b/?
30USD per line
3 GB of LTE (then throttling)
Unlimited everything else

>O2
>£12/month
>5GB 4G data, unlimited minutes and texts
Find a better deal, I dare you.
USA, Net10
$45, 5GB Data, unlimited talk/text

So I was thinking about giving Linux a try for the 15th time. I dont play games anymore, I just code, watch netflix and do my CE coursework.
Im so damn tired of Windows updates, the lack of a package manager and how fucking bugged the windows 10 UI is.
Which is the most mature Linux distro and UI or what the hell it's called that doesn't look autistic?

In you /g/entoomens' opinion, which programming job :
>1. Is the most prestigious
>2. Is the least prestigious
>3. Pays the most
1. compiler backend
2. web frontend
3. COBOL and other antiquated shit
In my place at least:
1. Meme Scientist
2. Weeb dev (IT/hardware is even lower but they rarely program)
2. Data Scientist, definitely. Those fuckers earn crazy money for very dubious value

I don't need filters because i don't need emotional protection like children do because they lack self-control and mental stability.
