>A South Carolina politician is hoping to stop computer owners in his state from viewing pornography.
>State Rep. Bill Chumley, a Republican from Spartanburg, told his hometown newspaper that his Human Trafficking Prevention Act would require manufacturers or sellers of computers or other devices that access the Internet to install digital blocks to prevent the viewing of obscene content. Blocking websites that facilitate prostitution would also be required, he said.
>If a purchaser wants the filter lifted, he or she has to pay $20 to have it taken out—provided the person is over the age of 18.

UK has the same thing and unlike the UK, this will only affect South Carolina and not the other states.
I hope this gets knocked down by the state supreme Court or the federal supreme Court before it spreads.

UK don't have any hardware block. People just have to tell their isp to unblock porn
What are actual advantages to systemd? As in, why did distros start using it?
Because it's better than SysV. And it was the shiny new thing. So shiny they couldn't see there were even better alternatives out there.
>>58083048
The main reason why most distros switched to systemd is because GNOME upstream requires systemd as a dependency. Yes there are the Funtoo patches of GNOME to make it work, but upstream doesn't support it.
Since GNOME is a popular Desktop Environment with a lot of power over the Linux world (since they are also influential with GTK in general), and most people don't want to bother with setting up an init system (users of Debian, Fedora for example) they switched to having systemd.

A refurbished Nexus 5 or 6. Get a battery case if you get a 5. Unlock the bootloader and flash Cyanogenmod. You'll never be stuck on an outdated and insecure device ever again. You could even replace Android with Sailfish OS or Firefox OS if you want.
What is the consensus on Founder's Edition vs FTW in SLI setups?
Let me give a bit more background. I want to build a new workstation and I'm thinking of getting a 1070 for GPU rendering. Just one to start with and then I'll probably add a second one at some point when they drop in price. GPU rendering means the card(s) would potentially be under load for pro-longed periods of time while rendering frames. I'm talking days, non-stop.
Does it make more sense to use cards with a blower setup or is open-air fine? My other concern is that the heat sinks on the FTW cards seem like huge pain in the ass to clean.
Ref Blower if you absolutely need the air our of the case or are watercooling later.
Open air otherwise. Personally I'd avoid evga til they figure out their flaming mosfets
>>58082828
If this is for a business you should spend the money on a Quadro. What software are you using?
SLI is stupid, that's the consensus
If you're unfortunate enough to fall for the meme, open air would be just fine, blower only if the cards are directly against each other
You'll get terrible temps if they aren't spaced with at least one spot between them
What is /g/'s opinion on carding and the technology behind it?
Is it a good way to make money?

Why does your keyboard have a heatsink? Doing some ultra fast typing?
Holy fucking shit you guys. Never before have I gone from my a great mood to cold sweats so quickly before.
Someone explain to me how the fuck this happens, please.
> Have a 200gb TrueCrypt volume (not looking to start a TrueCrypt vs VeraCrypt debate). Inside that volume I have about 140gb of porn. This is my curated selection that I've been adding to for the last 7 years. Hard to find stuff. Irreplaceable stuff (my own creepshots). About 2500 Facebook photos of friends in bikinis (lets not forget that we're all creeps here, not just me). Nudes of 2 of my ex's.
> Volume is stored on an external HDD. Never had a problem with it.
> Try to mount the volume.
> TrueCrypt hangs, not normal.
> Explorer stops responding, end task
> Black screen, no Explorer coming back to life
> It's not frozen, but it's like Windows can't fire up new processes.
> Force shutdown.
> Try again, this time the volume mounts
> Windows is saying that it's exFAT (should be NTFS)
> Trying to open the mounted volume results in the same issue I just had
> Force restart again.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? How can everything get so fucked so quickly? How was Windows able to fix it all? What kind of problem is this? Was it HDD related or TrueCrypt? Either way, I'm getting a new HDD tomorrow and maybe going with Vera. GOD FUCKING DAMN MAKE BACKUPS!
pic related, it's what happens when I now copy a folder that still has a remaining corrupted file. Speed drops to 0kbs, hangs for about 10 seconds, then goes to the next file. Thank the fucking non existent lord that most of the files were fixed.

Alright no other place where this is really relevant.
I'm looking into getting a DAC/DAP combo.
I'm looking at the Shanling M2 as the most likely candidate.
Requirements:
USB DAC
Large SD card capability.
Build Quality
Around 200-300 dollars.
I'd really like if I could dock it but I think I'll just get a Generic Micro USB dock if I get the Shanling.
Any suggestions?
>>58082441
so what, you want a DAP that can serve as a DAC at home for your PC?
>>58082566
Yeah basically, more though when I'm using just my laptop so its still really small.
And then I can just pick it up and go on and switch it over to a DAP.
