>Buying anything Samsung
>Ever

>The South Korean-manufacturing giant rolled out an update earlier this month that forces consumers to see display ads on its app menu screen if they want to take advantage of its sets' smart-TV features.
>The only way consumers can avoid the new ads is to disconnect their TVs from the internet, meaning they can't use its menu to access apps from streaming video providers such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.
>The ads featured on Samsung TVs aren't obtrusive when they first appear at the bottom of the screen but consume a lot of space once highlighted, enlarging to take up a quarter or three-fourths of the screen, depending on the ad.

Why are you comparing apples to oranges?

They're both completely different devices made for different purposes

I probably would download a car, given the way things are going. 2020, we'll have fully fledged botnet cars that always send back data to the gubmint about speed, GPS location, passengers, etc.

Was thinking of buying a Chromebook then getting Solus but is a Chromebook ARM based?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Chromebooks are extremely light on computing power so don't really expect to do much outside of programming and surfing the web. They're great for fucking around though due to their cost.
>>
>>58123156
for the same price as a chromebook you can get a powerfull thinkpad to install your Solus on. But Solus don't have many packages so a chromebook will likely be fine. But if you want something powerful for the money then go for a thinkpad.
>>
>>58123227
A USED thinkpad that is... not a new one of course... Businesses gets rid of old thinkpads so you get a lot for your money.

Because the people making the encodes aren't going to create a garbage encode just because you like shit quality.

Download the source and re-encode to whatever shit bitrate you want then you can wallow in your own filth in peace

Anyone have a good link (or torrent/magnet link for a Windows XP 32-bit ISO? My T43 is currently running Lubuntu 16.04, and it works like a charm, but I'd like to dual boot it with Windows to play around on the comfiest yet somewhat "modernish" OS ever released. Yes I knew Windows 2000's comfy factor is actually probably higher, but I hardly remember all that much from my Windows experience before XP, besides dicking around on 98 and diddling with ME, which wasn't that bad from my personal experience, which includes lots of Solitaire and Harry Potter.

From what I read online, Windows 7 kind of sort of works on 1.6Ghz Pentium M's with 2GB RAM, but the T43's ATI GPU doesn't exactly have a driver for Windows 7 from the looks of things. There's a vista driver, but I doubt it'd work on 7. The basic Microsoft published driver for the GPU will run the native 1400x1050 resolution, but will obviously not have a lot of important features as the ATI published one, so Windows XP it is. I plan to install the unofficial service pack 4 on it so that I can get some POSReady-directed security updates on it 'till 2019, along with other fixes.

Also general Windows XP and POSReady thread. Post anything XP, including your experiences installing it and using it in the past year or two.

Just download POSReady 2009 from microsoft.com
>>
>>58122764
Actual POSReady seems too stripped down to me, judging from my use of it in a VM to sync my ipod from Debian on my T520. Also I don't want to run into compatibility troubles with shitty pajeet programs that I might want to install on the computer, that somehow detect that the OS is POSReady and decide to shit itself.

You want Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs

The image on Piratebay is legitimate, and includes a serial. Yes, a serial, not a crack.

It's not available for download (anymore) from Microsoft.com, and was only available to companies that have site licenses for XP or 2000.

https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4918360/Windows_Fundamentals_for_Legacy_PCs

Every piece of software that I know detects it as XP.

Why after getting a new motherboard and cpu (xeon 5460) my video card started crashing after 20-30 minutes and after changing it with another I get bsod after around the same minutes. I have obviously formatted the HDD and installed a new OS with the newest drivers so it can be that.

I have no intentions on doing anything illegal, I just like my privacy and its my right to have privacy!

My current setup: Win 7, Wired connection only connected when in use, Latest version of the following: TorBrowser, Peerblock always running (free list), and HideMan VPN that uses a 256 bit encryption.

HideMan limits my use by hour. I am open to any suggestions on a better free VPN.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance!
