Why most OSs are written in high level language, if their own compilers are written in high level language too? How do you even get started? I don't get it, isn't it a must that the compiler is written in assembly to get started with the OS?

the XPS 15 9560 is coming soon and has a desktop-grade GTX 1050 (think around a GTX 960) in it.
that's about the best you can get for that price imo.
