Want a new phone, what a be a good upgrade away from the Moto X Pure? I'd want something with expandable storage as well.
Another Moto X Pure.

Galaxy S7 edge, it was the most popular smartphone last year.
>but samsung will release muh s8 soon
Yeah, good luck with that, thanks to the note7 fiasco the s8 will be delayed this year.
I might buy an Asus Zenfone 2. They're pretty cheap and not bad at all. A good middle of the road phone, not a POS and not an expensive brick
Speccy thread. I always love to see what other anons are running/building.
I just got this laptop for Christmas, which is good for homework/research/etc. Not really too much otherwise.

You have 5 seconds to explain why every bit of software used today shouldn't be open source.
>Allows user customization (which would obviously violate warranties, so companies are off the hook).
>Code can be checked to respect freedom/privacy.
>"B-b-but how will the code monkeys get paid?"
You would pay for the source code, with programs that would just install a compiled version for the normies. But those who want to see the code and compile themselves can.
>"B-b-but then won't people just share those text files?"
People already share software illegally online. Those files would still be copyright and subject to applicable distribution/sharing laws.
The ONLY reason to keep software closed source today is for government/business spying.
I've got nothing to hide you sperg.
>You have 5 seconds to explain why every bit of software used today shouldn't be open source.
it doesn't work like that. you have to explain why it should be open source.

And I conveniently did so, right under that line you quoted.
How does /g/ backup their data/porn? I recently got (read: stole

The download site for this project vanished about 2 days ago. Today i downloaded a video from yts. After i downloaded it i tried to open the mkv in vlc. Vlc generally wouldn't have trouble playing an mkv but in this instance it failed to play it. CPU usage was through the roof. My guess is buffer overflow.
I downloaded utorrent and re downloaded the same torrent but this time the file was mysteriously an mp4 and played fine.
Beware.

>According to recent chatter around the tech-sphere, NVIDIA’s biggest partner, EVGA may be jumping on the AMD Vega train this year. Industry speculation about the possibility of EVGA partnering with AMD to make and sell Radeon Graphics cards has been going on for many years. The subject has been brought up more frequently as of last year however

it would be suicide anyway considering the treatment XFX got when they started selling ATI cards
I honestly don't pay attention to branding when I buy an Nvidia chip. I get whichever is cheapest and has a reasonable warranty.

That one. Mitutoyo is a reliable brand that doesn't need recalibration every 6 months. Every single place I've worked at has had them exclusively

Mitutoyo, but the bigger dial gauge version, when I need one. Got a company issued box of Starrett 1-12" mics I use for the stuff that counts though. Calibrated and certified every other year.

The same exact Ryzen vs Intel systems running at AMD's conference are live at their CES booth. The two systems are there running for anyone to check, inside the case and inside the OS. The AMD Ryzen CPU is running at identical speed with a $1,000 Intel 6900K CPU, and all of Ryzen's extra performance boosting features were disabled and clock speed lowered to match Intel's in the hands on demo to show clock for clock performance.

>There were bullets flying at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport when 13 people were shot. Five of them didn't make it out of the baggage claim area alive. And Steve Frappier was lucky. He credited his Apple MacBook Pro for saving his life.
>The 37-year-old traveler from Atlanta brought his school-issued lap top, because he was going to an education conference. He placed it in his backpack, but didn't think of it when he felt an impact on his back during the shooting.
>"I was wearing a backpack on both shoulders and then when we went to the floor, I dropped and the backpack was still on my back," Frappier said during an interview with CNN.
>Frappier said he saw a man get shot in the head and heard his wife screaming. When the bloodshed was over, he said he went to the men's restroom and saw a bullet hole on the lap top. He gave it to FBI agents. And he was in shock when they found a 9 mm bullet in his backpack.
It's literally BULLETPROOF and a LIFE SAVER!
