What do you think about tablet+laptop like this?

Does anyone have like these here? How have they held up since the day you bought them? Are they reliable enough for daily college use?

Right now I'm planning to get a Lenovo Miix 310.

Not really interested in it, seeing as how pretty much everything you could do with the touchscreen I would prefer doing with a mouse and keyboard. It's probably because I've never been put in a situation where I would want to use the tablet part but as of right now I would greatly prefer just a regular small laptop.
>>
I am also thinking about getting something like this for college note taking, including drawing diagrams etc.

Any recommendations?

For basic use they're pretty damn great, cheap too. I was very fond of my Asus I had for a year or two

Hello /g/,

i want to talk about AI. I have come to the consclusion, that the hard problem of consciousness cannot be solved.
This is due to the fact, that we cannot escape consciousness. We are trapped inside of it and therefore are not able to observe it objectively.
It is not possible to build a full scale map inside of the territory. It is no possible to produce an uncompressed model of the universe insde the universe. You cannot compress consciousness.
Any digressions?

>This is due to the fact, that we cannot escape consciousness. We are trapped inside of it and therefore are not able to observe it objectively.

Well, many materialist philosophers like behaviorist say that there is no conciousness, just behaviour. So if you get a machine to say "ouch" when you hit their sensors then they experience pain.

It is the best possible evidence of consciousness that we CAN have theoretically. so you can say that all machines are conscious if they behave like they do... Just program something to say "ouch" when you hit it. And to answer yes when you ask "do you feel".

There is no scientific evidence any other kind of consciousness even exist. You can not scientifically measure it.
>>
>>58388677
so you deny consciousness altogether?
doesn't that contradict your existence?
>>
>>58388716
You believe in spooks, it's unscientific. There is no objective data showing it exists. There exists behavior of different kinds that the brain apparently provokes. But there is no scientific evidence of anything else.

They are US based so I know they won't yield to foreign influences. Also they have paper copies on the metro going to and from D.C. which makes them far more convenient then their competitors.

What's the best distro for a very old laptop, for everyday use, and for someone not experienced at all with Linux and not really interested in learning about it?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>58388321
How old? You could try puppy Linux, it fully operates in RAM so it will be fast and has pretty much all software you'd need, though I hear it's difficult installing new software on it.
Alternatives are distros with light desktop environments like Mate, XFCE or LXDE. Ubuntu mate or Manjaro with xfce are excellent as everyday distros.
>>
>not really interested in learning about it?

Just torrent an appropriate Windows version.
Very old has no meaning and of course you were too lazy to post THE FUCKING SPECS.

Stick with Windows.

Hello /g/ents, help a brother out.
I have a project for uni but i wasn't assigned a specific theme.
The problem is I've got no fucking idea what to pick given the fact that my teacher does not want mini-games. I've been told the only criteria is to make it complex but not too complex.
I have to code it in C#.
