a feminazi in charge
yahoo was a decline, it didn't matter who was in charge, it would have gone to shit either way.
Yahoo should have pulled a cuban and walked away with billions and sold itself to MS
seriously, how could you possibly fix yahoo ?
The only women in tech who are any good are men.
Anyone else here using F droid for most of their shit?
I'm trying to limit the amount of apps I've got from the play store and F Droid does seem to have some pretty nice shit, but it's missing some things
>Newpipe
it's pretty nice but the background play sucks ass (audio cuts out 90% of the time) and there's no way to play audio while the screen is off.
>K-9
it's alright I guess but it looks like trash.
Anyone know of any decent alternatives to either of these?
Discuss foss apps.
>>58413807
They're ok but some apps are far better on appstore, which I got "yalp store" for.
Fitnotes for example is ad-free and excellent and has no equivalent on fdroid, same with osme other apps.
>no way to play audio while the screen is off.
Works on my machine.
>>58413846
with newpipe?
I switched back to the yt app with the background playback xposed module and it works fine, but I'd prefer to just have a yt client that can do all of that.

Apple is now a sad shell of its former self.
I am going to University to study video game, design and production. For my coursework I need a laptop with a nvidia gpu (the university courses use nvidia frameworks) however I don't need a powerful GPU.
I would ideally like a cheap relatively good quality laptop with a low tier nvidia gpu.
Any recommendations from my fellow /g/entoomen ?

How can I make Firefox load new tabs just like Chrome? What I mean is, to have a new tab load the page but not a Youtube video automatically until I select the tab.
Right now I can make it so that
a) new tabs don't load at all until selected; and/or
b) make Youtube videos require a click to play
But I want neither of these. I DO want new tabs to load, but I DON'T want videos to load until the tab is selected (but then I want it to autoplay).
Can anyone help? Thanks.
>>58413517
how do you make firefox only load when tab is clicked? I only know this behavior from archived tabs

There an addon for it, I forget the name. Search it, you'll find it easily.

General Tips:
>Consider substituting an i5 6500 for an i3 in any RX470/480 or GTX 1060 tier build
>Consider substituting an i5 for an i7 if you are not a content creator
>Consider stock fan+heatsink for any i3 or locked i5 build

Im watching MIT lectures online.
According to Professor Winston, AI instructor at MIT, Artificial Intelligence may be summed up as:
Algorithms enabled by constraints exposed by representations that support models target at thinking, perception, action
Hands down, that is the most conjugated sentence I have ever read.

You've seen nothing. Try to watch any lectures on functional programming.
Then you will see.

For what purpose?
I am trying to remove security software from a computer and i dont know where to start, I have had the OK from my boss to take home the out-dated/old computers and now i want to remove all the security software on it that is blocking me from doing anything. Is it possible for me to remove the security from the hard drive?
tell us why you posted that pic
>>58412854
Nuke and do a fresh install of whatever OS you want. Why are you even trying to keep the current installations?
So people would know that i am on my win 10 pc trying to remove the security. With the security on other PC it wont let me edit files on the home screen.
Okay so I'm completely fucking sick of reddit. Trying to flee its mainstream audience for the past 5 years is now becoming absolutely impossible as it is now infecting everything interesting.
reddit is just self-important douche-bags with shit interests and tastes
Tumblr is just retarded sjws and angsty teenagers
4chan is mostly just pure meme faggotry, but this and a couple of other boards are pretty aight
I want more of what reddit was like 6-8 years ago, a tech-oriented audience with relatively interesting content and small but vibrant communities that didn't always fucking fall down to the lowest common fucking denominator.
Hacker news is the best shit atm, but it can also be super fucking dry.
What is /g/ browsing besides 4chan these days?

SSHD's were created to bridge the gap between expensive SSD's and the slowness of HDD's
They work well for what they are but now that SSD's have become so inexpensive they didn't gain much traction.
They benefit you most when you use your computer for the same routine or same programs every single time. The SSHD caches your most used programs so they load faster and better also helps your OS load faster since that'll always be cached
>>58412766
I have a 256GB SSD, it's will be the second drive for my data, the SSHD will be overkill? Should I get the normal one?

Spend the extra $20 for a drive that won't eat your data.
