Then it transfers packets via UDP/IP which is the typical protocol for large multimedia.
You are downloading the video and uploading it at the same time. The video is stored in memory and not saved to disk, unless you want to.

If you're talking about the unpacked to packed size ratio in that screenshot it's because most of the data is just 0s which is really easy to compress. The 0s are there to fill the DVD capacity of 4.7 GB.
