Get a widely used distro.
The more community support you have, the better.
Will you cry when the most aesthetic space probe finally completes its mission?
>>62173099

Linux user here.
Why would I care about using BSD?
Honest question.
>>62173052
Other linux user here.
I saw that you could force disable RAID controllers and set them to JBOD only mode using BSD kernel params.
Not sure what trickery they pull to make it work.
What is the advantage if I was to go for BSD instead of gnu/linux? Practical sense, I mostly read stuff and write stuff, so I do not require some oddly specific software to run on it.
Also, which BSD is best BSD?
Twitch has been totally down for almost everybody for almost an hour. Page is blank. The view source shows a bunch of text about tax document. What does /g/ think is going on?

Honestly why does this bother you so much?
I personally couldn't a give a shit if somebody bought a a camera for $1, or a million dollars.
>>62173085
You need to buy a better monitor.
The RED camera is used to shoot actual fucking movies you can see in theatres. They have a list on their site.
No shit it's $140k. There are cameras 5 and 10 times that price that exist.
If your job is to pump out videos every day that get millions of views, and you can invest the $140k on the camera knowing it will improve the quality of your work, give me one reason why you wouldn't do it?
What will happen to the Linux kernel after his death?
By that time we would all have moved to GNU Hurd or BSD
It will shatter into a million forks. Then the big tech corporation that pours the most money into their "open source" linux wins.
>>62172996
>moved to GNU Hurd
didn't know Linus discovered immortality
If there was a valid replacement for linux, what kind of interface/features would you hope for

Just use 3 words that have the first letter capitalized, separate each word with a hyphen, then slap a few letters and a symbol at the end. An example would be:
You-Stupid-Faggot-2514!
Or use the password generator in keepass.
