You guys know about turntables?
What's up with these Omnitronic, Technics SL1200 clones.
Their Belt-Drive versions cost around the price of a dreaded average Crosley piece of shit yet they sport features that you don't really see on such cheap pieces of equipment.
So what's the real deal with them?
What's the catch?

>inb4 wrong board
I knew the risks I took when I made this thread here. But what I didn't know was what board I was actually supposed to post it on, and I had to start from somewhere.
So please be kind enough and instruct me on that too if the greentext case is valid.

Here's some of the Omnitronic BD turntables in question:

>So what's the real deal with them?
They're all re-branded "Super-OEM" turntables manufactured by Hanpin. Reloop, Panasonic, Stanton, Omnitronic - they're all the same shit. Also, turntable features are just design decisions at this point. They cost pennies to add, and more often than not you'll find tables without those features only skipped the button, switch or slider on the top of the unit.

>What's the catch?
Nothing. Turntables as a technology were cracked decades ago. The only thing that would differ between it and and a more expensive table would (theoretically) be that it uses cheaper internal components and has a poorer build quality. But looking at Panasonic and Sony's recent offerings, that's up for debate.

Why do smartphones still use two cameras and not a mirror, or optical system to flip between forward facing, and rear facing mode?

Almost every phone on the market has a shitty front facing camera, and a good forward facing camera. How is it not cheaper to make an optical mirror device that changes modes?

Same camera quality in either mode.
Is the technology not there yet?

So I'm having a tough time between choosing between a Raspberry Pi or a shield tv. I know hardware wise the Shield obliterates the pi but software wise it's still android while pi uses raspian. Emulation wise I'd choose a shield over the pi but I also wanna use them for creating word documents and other PC related kind of projects. How's Microsoft word on android? Can I use the Shield as a PC?

Let's settle this once for all:

Apple is only good at making laptops and tablets, no other manufacturer can compete with it.

For PCs (desktop) and smartphones you must stick with Windows and Android respectively, otherwise you are just being dumb buying inferior technology at higher price. PC is the best platform to play games, no exceptions.

Linux is good but not a real alternative to Windows and its software, on the server it really shines.

Nintendo is out of the console business and their new Switch will fail, the only thing that Nintendo actually does good is their Handheld. Xbox currently is a waste of time since it lacks of good exclusives and all of its games are coming to PC. That makes the PS4 the only console that worth buying in the current times for its superior exclusives and relatively low price, and PS Vita is shit.

I disagree, I'd rather use OS X than Windows for everything except gaming.

Using a mini mobo, it hasn't touched the case, I promise. I didn't need to use 2 standoffs because the board is already elevated by others screwed into the edge of the case. Put in the rest of the standoffs anyways, still didn't work.
