Is the search in Windows 10's taskbar SUPPOSED to work?
>windows 10
>>58508135
What do you and most of /g/ recommend people use when it comes to Windows?
Also that's ironic because I'm a redditposter and someone told me this. At least people here understand a little better.
>>58508182
Is that /r/windows10? That place sucks.
I run 10 pro and I haven't run into an issue like yours. Did you try rebuilding your index search?
Give me ONE good reason why I shouldn't just always use the root account
>protip: you can't
>>58508086
There's lots of things that can execute commands under your account without your knowledge or consent. For example it's trivial to write a C program that, when executed on any modern Windows system, deletes everything on your C drive. But the program executes commands with the same privilege level as the user who runs the program - meaning, if you're not logged in as an administrator, a lot of files will be off-limits.
>>58508086
Security via permissions and access controls. It requires finding a local privilege escalation exploit to do anything useful, and therefore adds security by depth.

If someone is inside your system as your regular user you're already fucked.
what do video game publishers do

I've recently acquired a domain name very similar to youtube.com. It's basically just a typo of youtube. I'm assuming that these kinds of domains are in high demand, because every possible typo I could think of other than this one was already bought.
What's the best way for me to monetize this? I was thinking I could just redirect to Youtube, but first take visitors through some kind of url shortening service that pays me for every visit. Other than that, I could probably just try to sell the domain.
The second you try to monitize it (or even before) Google will have your ass. I work in the industry.

Enjoy getting ripped to shred by google
just put ads on it and auction it like a normal typo squatter. you could turn a profit. if you wanted to be an asshole, you could essentially proxy youtube and inject your own ads into it. serious legal trouble in that case.
Hey just bought the 7700k, but I don't have the budget for a GPU can any one tell me what the IGPU's ability to run games is?

Do you have a drone?
Seems like a toy that's discarded in the corner after a few weeks, unless you have some professional use for it
>>58507914
One of the biggest blemishes on what defines 'tech' right now
No.
The ones that aren't shitty toys that are difficult to stabilize go for thousands of dollars.
I also hear that Amerifats like to shoot them with their guns because "MUH PRIVACY" and you have to register that shit with the FAA like a regular-sized airplane.
>>58507937
Not hard to register at all. Costs 5 dollars and they give you a registration code. If you can't afford it you probably shouldn't be using it anyway. It's only for big boys who don't live in studio apartments in Brooklyn.

I'm pretty sure the deep Web is a Meme, I can't find it through Google. Mean Google has everything right?
Can someone possibly point we in the right direction to find it?

Why do you need the deep web anon! Are you trying to commit crimes?
I haven't used one since I reformatted 6 months ago. As long as you're not a retard who runs unknown .exe's are you pretty much good without anti-virus?
Yeah why would you care about malware if you're already using windows.

Real-time protection? You can get away without using it. Just scan once in a while, based on your usage patterns.

I'm not 100% sure if this board would know but what would be a good drone for checking livestock at night? I've looked into many drones but they never seem to be able to be used at night.

I switched to Dvorak about ten years ago when I was edgy. I've been using it now longer than I used Qwerty. And I don't mind using it - the only problem is my left fingers get a bit sore from all the vowel-pressing during prolonged typing sessions. Am I right in thinking, however, that my hands in general would be more sore in the same situation using Qwerty?
In any case, is it worth switching back at this point? Or if I am going to switch again, is there a different, better keyboard layout to use?
>>58507582
My hands don't get sore at all on qwerty.
I was developing cubital tunnel for a short period until I started putting bean bag strips under my elbows.
>>58507582
Which do you type quicker with
>>58507605
Well, when I say prolonged typing sessions I mean 8-12 hours of near-constant, frequent button presses. I guess I should have mentioned that since it's kind of abnormal (I write a lot). Are your typing habits are in the same sort of league? If so then I could put more weight on what you're telling me. Somehow I've managed to avoid serious joint issues thus far.
