You're walking down the street.
A limo suddenly stops next to you, the passenger window rolls down. Out comes a gun.
Jim Keller says this to you.
What do?
Turn 360 degrees and teleport behind him
take a shit on the street

Redpill me on this new programming language called Nim, /g/.
What's the deal with it?
We don't need easier languages. We have plenty. We need good libraries, and .NET does a good job.
All you need is C# and .NET really for everything.
Though it's closed source sadly.
Never liked the syntax very much.
>>58512046
>programming languages
>closed source
wut
so i know C but all i can do are shitty command line utilities
how do i into graphical user interface?
>>58512003
Either make calls to X or use a library.
C users usually use gtk, but if you are willing to use c++, qt is really great.
If you really knew C, you would know that you can use libraries like GTK+ to make GUI for your programs.
>>58512003
You can't because sepples faggots think that you can't do gui without abusing OOP and so they wrote every gui library in sepples.
Would you ever trust someone other than yourself to assemble and setup your PC including your OS and it's settings?
>Would you ever trust someone other than yourself to assemble and setup your PC
yes
>including your OS
yes
>and it's settings?
no
>>58511983
Yes, I trust Apple Inc.
You don't have a choice, you can only trust the producer of your machine or not store and process anything personal on a computer at all.
Why in 2017 do electric shavers still suck?
Self driving cars arent far away yet theyve not figured this out.
Please elaborate, I've never used one.
>>58511987
I assume he means that they aren't good for much other than trimming stubble and need to be used every single day if you're going to use them at all. If you're going to go with an electric razor you'll pretty much need both a razor and a groomer whereas a straight razor can tackle just about anything and a safety razor can handle more punishment than an electric razor.
Just use a safety razor

This is a subject that most kids don't remember. Mainly Google. Google's main thing was that the search engine was very simplistic.
Yahoo was the dominant power to that point, but they had an interface that gave you cancer. Ads everywhere.
I guess after a point they couldn't change it even if they wanted to. Their customers had paid for it.
What's the most disrespected piece of technology on a modern PC? I'd say it's still the keyboards. Most fags still buy them without caring if they are shit or not.
PSU
Most people I know will literally buy the cheapest possible PSU that provides just enough power for whatever system
>>58511763
Gotta go with this one OP, but I see where you come from with keyboard.
>>58511763
>>58511780
Sure, PSU is a close second, but since I've read about it once in a while I'd say keyboard.
Why isn't 4chan using invisible recaptcha? this shit will eliminate our captch solving suffering forever.
The want to make it as unusable as possible in order to sell monthly fees.

Hello sirs we do the interviewing now
learning JavaScript, jQuery and Angular alongside project development.
Am i able to contribute in a team of 4 people? (me included)
>>58511444
Your numbers say yes, but the shit you learn says no.
>>58511444
>contribute
yes
>meaningfully contribute
no
javascript is notorious for being easy to start making shit, but also easy to make shit
when you learn proper prototyping, understand it's wonky variable scoping, and the infamous this chontext, understand the different ways the browsers and every single IE run javascript or expose globals, don't expose globals, can use the browser devtools, avoid callback hell, avoid event call hell, understands what an IIFE is, learn a hundred different libraries and build tools..
then mayby, i'm sure i'm forgetting something amongst the first few years i had working with it
once i went typescript i didn't look back
Only for web dev and even then it's fucking cancer. If you use javascript outside of a browser you deserve to be raped and murdered. There are way too many idiotic hipsters trying to push javascript on industries it wasn't designed for eg: mobile dev. If you eventually want to do something other than web dev, please for the love of god use a real programming language.
How do you first charge your devices /g/?
Me and a friend recently got both the same S7. So the first few cycles I emptied it to 0% and charged it for the old school standard of 13 hours to condition the battery, while my friend only charged it until 100% and then unplugged.
I feel like I'm getting more SOT than him, but I also fear it might be placebo.
>>58511407
With LiPo batteries you actually get the best battery health by keeping them in the 40-60% range.
Letting it go to 0% ( Which isn't actually the real 0%, your phone won't let you lower the battery that low, it's actually more like 3% for this exact reason ) is one of the worst things you can do for a lipo to do repeatedly.
You want to do one full drain so that the software can calibrate but after that try and keep it in the middle as much as possible.
>>58511610
So, if you receive your device with 60% charge, you have to discharge it once to 0% fully, and then just do 100% to 30-40% cycles to keep it "healthy"?
>>58511657
Yeah, that would probably be your best course of action.
I mean, ideally you wanna keep the max charge below 100% but in the case of phone size batteries that you're cycling as much as we do it's probably not gonna make a huge difference.
