Is "2600k will last forever" just a meme? If CPUs have improved 10% each generation since 2600k, wouldn't a 7700k be quite a bit better and not just marginally?

Do you use an RSS/atom news feed?

I've switched yesterday and my life has been transformed.

Before I had about 10 tabs of my most visited sites pinned in Chrome, cycling through them by updating and looking for new posts manually. It OK.

My new setup is QuiteRSS, where all of my sites reside and are shown in the newspaper layout. I put everything in there: most visited sites, ebay search results I want to monitor, Email, 2 twitter feeds).

It's much easier now than before. Using Autohotkey, I press my Fn mouse button and the Aggregator comes on (or off) with everything updated already. With the right mouse button I then proceed to cycle through the unread feeds.

What's your setup?

600 feeds a day made me obessional. I had to stop. I used the Google client and later Feedly. Nowadays I have some feed in Operas build in feedreader but I don't monitore them regularely. To be honest more or less since 2007 or 08 I used a feedreader. Now I become more and more a normy with bookmarks.
>>
>>58519092
I don't plan on going that far. I already removed the ones that aren't interesting to me.

> 600 feeds

Did you mean 600 news, perhaps? A feed is basically the website you monitor, and a feed may display a certain amount of feeds.

600 feeds would be abysmal

Are SteelSeries mousepads really worth it as much as everyone claims them to be? I've heard controversial opinions on this and while I own a QcK myself (and it's pretty good so far), I haven't tried any other mousepad so I can't compare it to anything else. The surface is nice but the lack of anti-fray stitched edges make them a bit "meh" for the price considering the ones from other brands have them for less or the same price.

Do you have a moment to talk about Linus Torvalds?
>>
>>58518351
>linux
I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
>>
>>58518387
I'm terribly sorry for interjecting another moment, but what I just told you is GNU/Linux is, in fact, just Linux, or as I've just now taken to calling it, Just Linux. Linux apparently does happen to be a whole operating system unto itself and comprises a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Most computer users who run the entire Linux system every day already realize it. Through a peculiar turn of events, I was misled into calling the system "GNU/Linux", and until now, I was unaware that it is basically the Linux system, developed by the Linux project.

There really isn't a GNU/Linux, and I really wasn't using it; it is an extraneous misrepresentation of the system that's being used. Linux is the operating system: the entire system made useful by its included corelibs, shell utilities, and other vital system components. The kernel is already an integral part of the Linux operating system, never confined useless by itself; it functions coherently within the context of the complete Linux operating system. Linux is never used in combination with GNU accessories: the whole system is basically Linux without any GNU added, or Just Linux. All the so-called "GNU/Linux" distributions are really distributions of Linux.

Is it possible to set up a snapchat account that saves snapchats sent to it, and then posts them to its story?

There were a couple people at my university last year that set up snapchats like this, but I never knew how they did it. Those people have either graduated or abandoned the accounts, and I wanted to attempt doing it. I have an iphone 5s that's on 10.2 so I can't use Phantom. Could I use bluestacks to do this?

you can google for some snapchat api library. it does not have public api so it will be difficult to find.
>>
>>58518586
They don't have a public api, but liamcottle (founder of casper.io) actually managed to reverse engineer the snapchat api and is now offering access to his reverse engineered api for money. pretty genius.

prob, I was able to emulate one ps2 game (that being tokyo xtreme racer zero) at 1080p render reso on a i7-3517u that has an intel hd4000 gpu.

However if you play a game that's more cpu intensive then you might have to do additional tweaking.

Where do programmers like Karlie Kloss and Zoe Quinn rank among guys like Pike, Jeff Dean, Linus, etc.? Are they on the same level, or just below?

Doing an assignment on women in tech, and want to get a good idea of where the two ladies listed above stand compared to the "old school" greats.

Thanks!
