Sup /g/
Got a Samsung Syncmaster HDTV TA750, which I use as a monitor for my pc, hooked via an hdmi 1.3 cable to my RX 480 with Crimson driver. Resolution is 1080p.

Sources I found on the screen say that the max refresh rate is either 100 or 120 Hz. I am trying to get it to work with a refresh rate higher than 60 Hz by going to the Display tab in the crimson drivers, creating a custom resolution and setting the refresh rate to something higher (e.g. 75 Hz) then Display Settings > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter Properties and setting the new refresh rate under the monitor tab.

The screen goes black and tells me "Mode not supported" before reverting back to 60 Hz after a few seconds. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi /g/ i can't decide if use vim, emacs or neovim. In my day to day i use for java Intellij, for dotnet(in linux) visual studio code this one can handle other languages but i want to use a "ide/editor" to handle the majority of languages an can extend by myself. Which one you recommend and why pros/cons. Speed and versatility are necessary i can contribute with my autism

Recently, I did my first build on the LGA1151 socket. What genius decided it would be a good idea to put the pins on the board, instead of on the chip?

My mobo showed up with 3 bent pins, that I was able to bend back into place with a precision screwdriver, but jesus, those pins look like they weren't even designed to hold under the pressure of a light breeze. I've seen A LOT of other builders posting similar issues with this socket.

Was this an attempt by Intel to pawn of returned product, due to bent pins, on the motherboard manufacturer? The AMD chips I have worked with in the past were designed a lot more sensibly.

$100 mobo
$200 CPU
Which one is less expensive to replace in the event of bent "pins".

LGA>PGA any day.

$349 for this Asus Z170-WS

this isn't what I bought, but the board is not always cheaper than the chip. plus, which is easier for the tech to unbend, or replace if necessary?

Dunno, but it's pretty sweet and I'd also like to know.

Lately my goto has been Fira Mono.

Give me a sans serif version of that font and I'll use it. Looks good otherwise, good spacing and very readable.

That looks pretty nice, I'm interested to know too. I've been using Fira Code for the font ligatures, or Ubuntu Mono
