Hey /g/

I'm looking for an affordable (im a poorfag) monitor for my room that I can plug my PS4 into. Since itll only be used for console gaming I'm a little confused on what I should be looking for. and yes, I do have a gaming PC too.

I'm thinking the 100-120 dollar range. I've heard good things about Asus monitors, is this true?

Both my me and my girlfriend have ASUS monitors and they have been fine. She has one that has speakers which might be what you're into if you wanna plug in a console.

ASUS 23" VX238H

How close will you be sitting to it? most game UI's are built for larger screens so if you're planning on playing from any distance past 'desktop computer' you might need a bigger screen

I plan on playing it basically at the distance of a desktop computer

Idc about speakers too much because I'll be using a headset. Thanks for the rec, I heard Asus was really good for standalone monitors

Saving images in FIREFOX:

>wait for complete loading (slow internet)
>view image in full page
>zoom in and zoom out
>image is completely cached in RAM
>right click to save
>download starts
>...DOWNLOAD STARTS

WHY? If a fucking image is cached and fully zoomable in the browser, what need there is to REDOWNLOAD the image completely? why can't Firefox just copy the damn image from the browser's cache/RAM? it's fucking retarded.

Since my internet is shit, it doesn't even complete downloading sometimes.
I've already pointed this out before but nobody was able to give me any working solution, I tried a lot of shitty addons too and none of them helped.
What the fuck is MOZILLA even thinking? it's 2015+2 and this "feature" still isn't fixed?
34 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>58533219
Actually it does copy it from RAM, but only if you allowed it to download completely first
Chrome won't even show the "save as" window before downloading it completely
>>
By the way, I wasted gigabytes of traffic thanks to this "feature" and it's literally costing me money, since I've capped shitty internet.

There actually isn't a /sqt/ somehow so forgive me for making a new thread.
I am torn between these two laptops available at microcenter:
http://www.microcenter.com/product/460656/ROG_ZX50VW-MS71_156_Gaming_Laptop_Computer_-_Black
or
http://www.microcenter.com/product/454788/Omen_15-5113dx_156_Laptop_Computer_Refurbished_-_Black?ob=1&rf=Search+Results
The ASUS is $750, and the HP is an open box refurb for $662.
Specs wise they're almost on par - the HP has a 4720HQ and the ASUS has a 6700HQ, but benchmarks look like the 4720 actually performs better.
The HP is almost $100 cheaper, and I would have to buy an SSD for the ASUS so the difference will work out to more like $200.
They both have a 960m, I have a powerhouse desktop, this laptop will be used as a portable production machine and VJing/projection mapping/etc. The GPU is good enough for what I need it to do.
My big issue is the HP has 8gb SOLDERED ram... so no upgrading... where the ASUS has 8 and can upgrade to 32. This really irks me but part of me wants to say by the time I <really> can't get by on 8gb ram, I also won't get by with a 960m anymore...
So do I go cheaper, get about the same performance now and get stuck down the line RAM-wise? Or go with the ASUS and be able to upgrade my RAM, but have a 960m anyways which will also go obsolete at some poin5? Again I have a desktop for heavy lifting.
Losing my mind here and want to grab one of these today. Thanks /g/!

Just kill yourself.
>>
>>58533213
I'd go with the Asus. You're probably right that by the time you need more than 8GB RAM your 960m is going to be obsolete but on the off chance that the 960m still performs well into the future you'll want that option to have more RAM. Plus, what if something goes wrong with your RAM? I'd much rather swap cartridges than deal with soldered.

How would I go about partitioning my 16GB USB so that it could act as an installer/liveCD for multiple operating systems?

i.e.
>partition 1 = Windows
>partition 2 = Ubuntu
>partition 3 = Arch
>partition 4 = Crunchbang

Would have been a lot better with that led bar. I was actually thinking they would do it, was kinda disappointed when I first looked at the production model. Fuck google.

Still too big, still looks like a wannabeiPhone and still useless space below, which could be used for a non idiotic scanner placement.

Also what the fuck is the point of the LED bar beyond lowering battery life?
