Nice setup anon!
I need more RAM, new video card and bigger hard drives. Maybe 2017 will be the year to spoil myself.

Post computer model number.
I have 2016 but it's literally botnet and I want to go back. Should I go with 2013 or 2010?
Use OpenOffice brah.
Use Google Docs brah.
Use Gentoo brah.

My end goal is to be able to control my A/C (a Panasonic unit) from my RPi Zero.
I'm attempting to get the IR Transmitter wired as per Figure 2 here - http://www.raspberry-pi-geek.com/Archive/2015/10/Raspberry-Pi-IR-remote - however have had no success in seeing it lit. However, if I connect the IR LED to GPIO 14 and ground, I see it light up (via my camera). I should note that when I do this, it is permanently illuminated.
Am I doing something wrong? Is the diagram incorrect? I am using a BC547 NPN transistor, and I believe I have the correct resistors.
>>58542663
Do you have the correct wavelength IR LED?
>>58542819
I believe so, a 940nm one.
Panasonic ACs use IB (infra blue) light. A little different than IR but it works so much better. Unfortunately they cost like $5 for one LED and you need to use a JFET to power them.

Nothing, i love Unity.
I have an old, shitty tablet. Tablet was infected with some sort of rootkit. It installs all kind of viruses as soon as it connect's to wifi. It connects even with airplane mode on. Basically it fuck's up the system with malicious apps and adds that render it useless.
I have tried factory reset 3 times but it didn't help.
I installed 2 antivirus programs but they can't help much because viruses render the device useless while scanning.
I'm a linux user, is there an app for linux that can scan my tablet and clean it????
>>58541723
I'm even viling to install Windows virtually if linux doesn't have the app and winbloows has
Just like the only true way of getting rid of viruses on your PC is formating, you should reflash your device.

That's not however anything works.

While neural networks can produce amazing results, they are obviously limited and not "intelligent". Isn't the more interesting question what software logic could create strong AI? Is it even possible?
>>58541498
>While neural networks can produce amazing results, they are obviously limited and not "intelligent".
I think that's entirely contingent on a person's definition of intelligent. I've found in my time that for most laypeople it's extremely lax so to them a computer is for all intents and purposes intelligent. It's really just who you ask. Most normies are impressed by Cortana and Alexia. My mother actively tries not to upset her Siri and feel like she's having meaningful conversation with the chatbots I made so you get the idea.
>Isn't the more interesting question what software logic could create strong AI? Is it even possible
Well if we had the answer to that question it would already exist. I do believe however that "true" intelligence actually could be evolved in a sufficiently large and compartmentalized ann, but that the design of such a system is simply out of our capabilities at the moment. In any case, time will tell.

Finally replacing my sound card for a newer model. Having to tolerate my bullshit onboard sound made me think of every unfortunate, ignorant pissant relying on their motherboard for audio.
I'm not trying to be a snob here. I'm sorry you're too proud to know any better. But there you are. Onboard sound is shit. But because they stamp "lossless audio" on the board you actually believe you're alright. You're not.
I still use my Creative fx because it's miles better than onboard. The thing is about ten years old by now.
>>58541460
I'm thinking it's probably older than you think. Whatever works for you though.
I can't wait for the day audiophiles come out as dedicated pranksters to the world
there is literally no difference between onboard and sound card, no difference between chink 1$ earphones and 5000$ headphones, no difference between 128kbps and flac or even real life
IT ALL SOUNDS THE SAME, you can stop now

LG. Why would anybody by a Samsung TV ever? I'm not even being a fanboy. I've owned multiple and I've never met a person who didn't have issues within 1.5 years in their Samsung's. They're notorious for capacitor, main board and panel failures.
Seriously. Fuck Samsung.
