>Pixel Launcher just broke 500,000 downloads in the Play Store
>Google spent millions of dollars in advertising to take on Samsung in the high-end Android phone race
Are Play Store download numbers an accurate way of measuring sales of the Pixel, Phone by Google? Pixel Launcher comes preinstalled on Pixel, Phone by Google, by default so users don't necessarily download it from the Play Store. However, Google Hangouts and Google Play News Stand each have more than a billion downloads, which suggests preinstalled apps do show up counted in the Play Store.
Is Pixel, Phone by Google a flop?
>Nearly impossible to fucking buy
>Surprised at the low adoption
>>58551765
It's in high demand everywhere, what?
I've always said that I don't think Google actually intended to sell the pixel. It's just sort of a product they made that has a few benefits. It enables Google to understand the hardware inside and out and have a solid generic Android device to build it on. And if they can sell a few to the public to help recoup R&D costs then that's good too.
I just don't think Google actually intends to sell their own device they just want a phone to use internally. And at one point a phone for developers to make building apps for Android easier.
My local LUG is full of gay homosexuals, as I suspected. I was in two minds about going, alas.
Also, judging by the hardware, one or more of them almost frequents /g/. Show yourself, queer!
Go OP sounds like you'll fit in
>local LUG literally meets in the back of Denny's
>literally every single person is a turbo autist, vast majority are over 40 yo neckbeards
>still do awesome demos and collaborate on shit
mines cool. wish i had more time to meet up with them.

No, those guys are the attractive sort of gays. OP is the ugly kind of gay, where he's only gay because he might have a better chance with guys than girls.

I am a 30 year old retired entrepreneur and I am wanting to start teaching myself computer programming, networking, and security just as a time waster.

Last part of the key exchange in TLS is the exchange of a private key that is used to secure HTTPS traffic. Where is the AES key stored for most browsers? Can't seem to find any documentation on it.
ok
I'd like to secure her private key, if you know what I mean

It would only see a quarter of it, since your processor is outdated.

I had it. It's a good phone.
Key word, phone. It works fine for calls, text and social shit and that's about it really. iOS is limited in what you can do with it, but in all honesty a 4 inch screen you're not doing a shit ton of productity.
I have some android apps that aren't available for iOS due to either hardware limits or app store BS.
Battery life was decent. I could get a day on a charge and it topped up quick because it's a small battery. It's a 5s with newer internals, the design of the phone itself is decent, but the sides cut into your hand when you type a lot. I prefer plastic phones I'm finding, easier on the hands.
I feel iOS and Android each have their strengths and weaknesses, it really depends what you do with a phone. Android for me is a better fit. Plus I hate having an expensive phone. I always end up returning them because my $200 moto g does all I need it to.
Get it if you can afford it, if you don't like it just return it. Apple online store is decent about returning a product.
Kids these days majoring in CS in college. Absolutely disgusting.
The CS field is extremely oversaturated with programmers who are:
(1) low quality programmers who thought it was just a field that pays big $$$ and was easy, or
(2) offshore Indians that are driving the cost and quality down, or
(3) kids majoring in CS that graduated/or will graduate who thinks the major is easy (which is true, the schools dumb it down so much that any idiot can pass) and pays well, and have no passion at all for the field. When asked why they chose CS major, they will almost always say "I want to program games someday" or can't give an answer and shrug
It's an insult to my field. Especially these kids.
It's like you're a fan of a video game series because you like the gameplay/story/etc, then all of a sudden it becomes a meme and everyone now "likes" it or references it even though they probably never played past the first few hours.
Disgusting.

This is really freaking weird. One week ago I posted this thread about my HP laptop's battery staying at 0% while charging, even after buying a new battery and AC adapter. If I took out the AC adapter, it would immediately go into hibernation mode.
https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/g/thread/S58443457
For a while I was wondering if my battery really was even at 0% or if it was just the system thinking that's what it's at. So 15 minutes ago I decided to turn off the auto-hibernate on Windows and unplug the AC adapter.
I expected the battery to run out and the computer to shut off almost immediately Nothing has happened and I'm typing this thread on it right now. What the heck is even happening? Could it be that this battery is actually at 100% and the motherboard thinks otherwise?
>>58550987
>Could it be that this battery is actually at 100% and the motherboard thinks otherwise?
Or if it's a smart battery with circuitry inside then it's reporting wrong shit.
I have a somewhat similar issue with my T420, the battery reports half the capacity even if it's fully charged but when charging it stays at 99% for a good couple of minutes and when discharging it stays at 6% for like 3 or 4 hours.
>>58550987
>battery wear level 100%
Basically your battery thinks it's completely fucked, even though it probably is not
have you checked if the BIOS has a battery recalibration option? If it does not, boot into it anyway and let the battery run completely flat until te laptop turns off. Then boot into the BIOS again and let it charge fully, then check the values from windows again
Your battery calibration is screwed up.
>will be attempting to install ubuntu on my laptop without overwriting windows soon
fuggggg. I overwrote windows last time. Why is it so easy to do?
>>58550978
It's easy as fuck not to overwrite your windows partition. Just don't do it. Simple as that.
>>58550978
How the fuck did you overwrite your Windows partition?
Ubuntu literally gives you the option to install it along with Windows without having to do anything extra.

How did you manage to accidentally overwrite wangblows in the Ubuntu installer?

>>58550931
step one, partition manual and have a separate partition for /home so if the system does break, reinstalling doesn't wipe your data
step two, install the lts kernel and don't just blindly update, read release notes, and also except for security updates, give it a few days to see if anyone reports breakage
Should I pirate the 2016 LTSB or just buy pro?
