What in the fuck were they thinking, this is a security nightmare.
Need I remind you where ExpressCard and Firewire currently are?

Because it brings in royalty fees. Apple doesn't give a shit about security.

There are no experiences that must be experienced, still too much, needs higher res screen. It's still too early
Nothing, it's first gen VR. Nothing unexpected.

first of all its expensive
second normal fags don't know what it does yet
third its not nigger technology (cant be shown in public therefor useless to niggers)
How's it going /g/? I'm a college student majoring in CS and I want to know what would be the best laptop I can use to code and take on the go with me.
If you are incapable of doing the research on your own (and reading the sticky), I am afraid you either will not get the Computer Science degree, or you will be immediately outsourced.

Who out there uses Slackware? I've been thinking of trying it out. Any bad things?
I use slackware, basically the good part, aside from stability, is that most of the settings are in text files so it's easy to configure everything. The bad part is that you kind of have to configure everything. And I mean stuff that other distros would have by default, like making it run X by default instead of just the terminal
>>58574813
Would you say the community is still active?
>>58575156
I'm interested in this as well. I've always wanted to give Slackware a shot and I think it might just be the ideal distro for me, but I might not be that much interested if development/community is pretty much stale or dead.
Convince me.

Not for the CPU itself but rather the platform and chipsets, working official drivers for every OS.

In your opinion, how much could a person of average intelligence with reasonable computer literacy learn about programming (specifically, Full Stack Web Dev) after 3 months of full time self-study? Lets also assume that this person has slightly below-average logic and maths abilities but is naturally creative.
Asking for a friend, obviously...
>>58574523
I think just about an amount.
>>58574523
why is he so greasy?
More than he could in two months but less than he could in four months.
what's a good getting started with python guide for a professional programmer coming from js/go?
I already basically understand the python code I look at (if it's written well), but I don't understand some of the concepts.
I was able to learn Go in less than 100 pages. Can I learn basic python without having to dedicate lots of time to reading the reference manual?
Also, python 2 or 3?
>>58574496
Bump for interest. I wish to learn Python from scratch. Would learn C# if it was divorced from the Windows bullshit.
also interested
>>58574506
c# is fucking god-tier. Just download VS Code and get to work on Linux using .NET core, and stop whining about Windows

Hi, /g/. I need a bit of advice;
I'm a NEET who spent the last year or so getting aquatinted with networking and VMs.
Through some connections I've managed to convince some people I know my shit and now I'm doing some work for a few big companies restoring their old backup gho's to vmdk's, installing virtual machines, basic networking shit such as configuring the vm's so they communicate with automation hardware and their sql databases.
It's only a matter of time before they realize I'm a noob with no prior experience, right? I spend most of my time googling anyway. How do I keep this show on the road? How do I take it from here? If I were to write a resume I have to broaden the scope of the work some more, right? What certs do I need?
What baffles me is that these companies must have sys admins or something, why aren't they doing this work? The engineers that work at these firms keep calling me for support and it seems to me they know fuck all about basic shit.
Am I...Am I doing it right??
Haha you think people in IT know jack shit they are fucking numbskulls. Complete and total retards. Most people in IT are English majors who couldn't get any jobs with their worthless degree and so tried to fake their way into a programming job. They know 2 things WordPress and WordPress plugins.
Everyone makes it up as they go along
>>58574455
>The engineers that work at these firms keep calling me for support and it seems to me they know fuck all about basic shit.
The engineers call you for support because they know you're the stupid one who will come down and troubleshoot stuff.
When they call the sysadmin (aka the best job in IT) he just tells them "not my field fuck off"
As for certs, RHCSA should get you covered
Is there a version of Visual Studio without this Blend shit? Literally switching to Python because I'm tired of the bloat.

Hello. I'm gonna ask a question here since i couldn't find an answer anywhere else online. Would love your help! I'm running an old m3a78 mobo trying to install win 10 from a bootable usb. But i get stuck at splash screen. I'm using the same drive i got from a friend who installed win10 on his computer just last week.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bump.
Bump anon.
Could it possibly be something with the UEFI? Not sure at all.
>>58574310
Ask /sqt/.
Also /g/ is NOT your personal tech support.
