As long as people keep shilling against firefox I'm going to keep using it.
There has got to be some reason shills are posting anti-mozilla threads around the clock.
My theory is that Russian instigators have been trying to infiltrate open-source communities for a few years, especially Linux, we all know about the influx of SJWs over the past few years in the Linux kernel community. The SJW movement was mostly started by russian shills, and some "useful idiots" went along.
If Linus Torvalds had bowed to the SJWs and become an SJW himself, we would see people shilling against Linux right now (which was one the plan).
Mozilla cares about privacy and it's probably one of the few companies that don't put an government backdoor in their software.
Because mozilla software is safe from spying, government shills are trying to get people in the tech sector to stop using it.

Glorious Seamonkey using master race.

I use it because it's the best browser (:
>>58588425
Also, those anti FireFox threads are made by paid Google shills.
So, where are those freesync 2.0 monitors?

Probably many of you are hoarding terabytes of data. How do you keep it organized, I'm particularly intrested in pictures.
For now I see 4 options available to keep them organized:
>filenames
+ multiplatform, does not require additional software
- limited by amount of max character per filename / path
>directory structure
+ easier than (1) to traverse within file explorer, multiplatform, does not require additional software
- needs you to create a fuckton of symlinks, because one pic might belong to multiple directories
>tags
+ pretty much the same as 1, but without limits and its' easier to search for particular files
+ multiple types of tags, ie. separate characters and artist tags
- significantly slower than 1
- requires a decent tagging software (and I don't know any decent one)
- requires you to store your pictures as TIFFs, which takes a ton of storage place and has no real advantage above ie. PNG for the sole purpose of storing pics containing undressed anime characters
>database or 3rd party solution (which probably depends on databases)
+fast
+all advantages of tags
-requires additional software
-which might not be multiplatform
-cannot search and files under file explorer
How do you keep your files or/g/anized ?
>>58588150
Proper filenames most of the time.
Filenames. Then I can search for what I want. Hopefully I can transition to a filesystem which supports longer file names and trees within the next 5 years. (Looking at you ReFS)

How freetards can even compete?

By not forcing you to reboot

Let's not forget Windows 10 also supports Unix now without any 3rd party program. There is literally no reason to use loonix/cuck OS right now.
Is damn small linux any good in 2017?

We did better GUI in 1995.
It fucking 2017 already!!! Can't graphic designers start learning things and stop jerking off to ugly shit like that?

And how's that working out?
It's pretty popular on mobile phones.
Chink IoT botnet devices use it.

That's different, that's the application layer.
Anyone else here /UMPC/?

turn off eufi and secure boot
>>58587567
There are no uefi/secure boot options to find in the BIOS.
Why are things not consistent in Linux.
Why are programs not installed in one directory where you can easily find them ( something like Program files on windows)?
Instead you get cluster fuck of /etc, /opt , /usr , ~/.something , ~/.local, etc.
Also what a hell is with /usr/share and /usr/local/share also the /etc
When you install somehting, it doesnt even ask you where do you want to install it and terminal doesnt even output where it is installed. What the fuck is with this?
Lets talk about real problems in linux and not fucking GUI/DEs.

How would one go about making a machine with parallel/vector processing short of programming DSPs or something directly.
Let's say for more or less general purpose application.
What options are there?
http://www.adapteva.com/announcements/epiphany-v-a-1024-core-64-bit-risc-processor/
Actual vector processing seems dead unless you want to call wide SIMD devices like KNL or GPUs vector processors. Maybe the Epiphany - or if poorfag the Parallela - are for you?
>>58587254
Use a CPU if possible, if not use a GPU, if not use FPGA, if not use ASIC.
For general purpose applications? Use a CPU. Most cores are fast enough. Heck our CPUs are fast enough for most gaymes to run at 60 fps or higher on a single core.
Otherwise I would suggest you to just use a lot of smaller downclocked cores but that requires more competent programmers.
Raspberry Pi cluster.
Why does everyone call the SSD a meme?
Please stop making shit threads, thanks
Dumb frogposter
>>58587188
Because they are.
Give me 1(one) use for them.
"The OS boots faster on a SSD" is not an use.
I have read a few times that "do not track" doesn't work and makes you actually easier to track. Is that true? Can someone explain?
https://amiunique.org/fp
>>58587230
Oh and just think that most normies don't send a do-not-track message. So you are in the smaller group of people. And so on with other security/adblock addons and settings.
>>58587174
True.
My father is going into retirement in a few weeks. He has used ThinkPads from his workplace for the past 10-15 years. Buying one second hand seems the most logical idea, but he's the guy who would never buy something second hand.
What's my next best budget option? Just go to a mall and pick the cheapest laptop with an SSD and a core i3 or core i5?
Buy a ThinkPad online?
Just buy him a refurbished x220 and say it's new
>>58587106
Buying ThinkPads brand new is a horrible price-to-performance ratio.
