Greetings.
Updating the gaming screens page.
On the current to do list:
-Add contrast (as measured by reviewers, not the 100trillion:1 stuff they put on the box)
Your comments, suggestions, and criticisms are welcome. Please let me know if I have left out any good screens from the list.
Except the Eizo Foris FS2735. That is a $1300 screen that is not logically priced, when compared to the alternatives.

I'm disappointed you've not put any ultrawide things on the list
why doesnt he retire
>>58614470
because there is no one who can take his place
>>58614470
Why the fuck would he? He got ideas he wants to implement. Only wagecucks work so they can retire as soon as possible to waste their life away doing nothing of relevance.
>>58614470
also because he only exists to help save humanity from future calamities, and retirement has no place in that plan

Wage slaves justify this.
What does /g/ think of the Orange Pi PC 2?
What are some interesting things I can do with one? Was thinking of using it as a HTPC, but I'm open to suggestions.
>>58614391
Just what do you expect to use the IRDA for?
>>58614391

/g/ will sperg out about allwinner backdoor and not give you any actual answer, like me.
>>58614391
I think it's an interesting device as soon as basic stuff like hardware accelerated video playback actually werks.
Is there any decent open source screen recorder that isn't OBS? (I don't want to worry about accidentally smashing that broadcast button by mistake one day)
>>58614276
it can't broadcast if you don't tell it where to upload, just don't fill that out in the settings
>>58614292
it still makes me paranoid to have a broadcast feature built into it
>>58614320
and where exactly would it be broadcasting?
Have any of your accounts been compromised?

yes, by linux mint

I had one of my old google accounts stolen and held for ransom. I just gave up on it and let it delete the account. My old youtube channel had +10k subs.
I'm not entering my personal Gmail there.
How much time do you spend on /g/?
All of my free time - that I could spend on learning loonix
More than I should, less than I could.
Maybe an hour or two a day. I mostly lurk.
What is the best district for Surface Pro 3 equipped with an i5 processor?
What the g from /g/ stand for?
Gay? Gentoo?
why is /b/ called b?

I have a trove of shockwave flash videos that I saved from various boards around 2006-2009ish. I'm trying to find the best tool for converting them to webm. Obviously some of them aren't video, but interactive games and such, but a lot of them are loops of chiptunes and other music. Does anyone have any experience with this conversion process?
You could try Active Presenter.
>>58613592
>Active Presenter
Would this allow me to record only a section of my screen, ie the part with the flash video playing in it?
>>58613630
Yes. You can also tie it to a specific program.
Manga reading sites are blocked here, so I use Hola and I don't really care.
Does it trigger you, anon?
>>58613421
>blocked here
where's here, mohammed?
>>58613421

I think the triggered here is someone else, OP.
>>58613430
Japan, Tokyo
So /g/ is this real?
>300$ pc build = 720p gaming
>500$ pc build = 1080p gaming
>700$ pc build = 1440p gaming
>1000$ pc build = 4K gaming
>>58613389
it's not that easy. some games in 4k require a $1500 setup to run at 60fps like witcher 3.
>>58613400
I know, but can you say that this is the average for most games?
Its retarded, but correct
Why do you guys think that Linux is better than Apple or Microsoft? I really don't get it.
>>58613371
Better kernel, better userland, more control, huge community of passionate developers (not the wageslaves working for corps who only care about milking money out of you).
>>58613465
But you don't even have office.
captcha: calle office
>>58613371
it's "better" if your time has no value and you can also program and you want to learn how to be a sysadmin.
for everything else, Mac/Win is a much better choice.

Old Thread
Kaby Lake has been released! Skylake is depreciated if corresponding chips are similarly priced (e.g., i5 7600K vs i5 6600K)!
>Some motherboards will have a one-click, 5GHz on air OC button that works for 80% of i5 7600Ks
>100 series chipsets (Z170, B150, ect) don't work out of the box with Kaby Lake
>Z series chipsets have an "Enhanced Turbo" under XMP, which allows all cores to run at the highest single core boost clockspeed (works for Skylake CPUs as well)
>Pentiums now have hyperthreading, and are thus the new default budget / entry level gaming CPUs
>Pentium G4560 is the best price / perf four thread CPU on a modern platform
>All Kaby Lake CPUs work natively with 2400MHz DDR4 memory
>Do not underestimate the impact of fast (>2400, e.g, 3000MHz) RAM in conjunction with a Z series chipset, which often provides as much of a performance boost as a CPU overclock

You could probably spend less on the mobo but otherwise looks good
I want to build a silent pc, is this case a good deal?
Also Ive heard noctua fans are the best but theres tons of stuff I dont know, which ones are the most silent ones?
Thanks for reading
It's a good case, though you will want to remove the two Corsair fans in there if you want it to be quiet.
