What are you lads doing wrong?
I know right? I've got mine connected to my router without a monitor and it streams games to my linux desktop just fine. No idea what all the fuss is about.

Is it good to learn electronics if you're a programmer?

Good? "Yes". Completely needless? Yes.

Don't listen to the tards in the thread. If you know assembly/basic you can put that knowledge into electronics building. Try playing shenzen I/O, it's semi-realistic. Also you can program arduinos to do cool shit if you feel like interacting with the material world.
20 fucking years, and nobody has made a better mouse.

Drive and obsession for reaching a goal. That comes when you work on something you like and enjoy. Most people tend to follow lucrative trends in programming instead of following their own path. This applies to all fields in general.

dear web people,
i am currently trying to get a certain table layout to work.
i NEED my code to be semantically correct, but i also NEED a specific design.
i want to display a table that has the following headers and respective contents: name, address, mail, phone AND items.
every cell is a link that will be styled to display:block. the link MUST "stretch", the whole cell HAS to be clickable.
the items-column MAY contain several infos for each row, these are generated dynamically.
they also HAVE to be style as a block.
however, i cannot specify any widths or heights to absolute numbers.
what i did so far<style>
table { width:100%; }
a { display:block; padding:1em; }
</style>
<table>
<tr>
<th>name</th>
<th>address</th>
<th>mail</th>
<th>phone</th>
<th>items</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><a>Adolf</a></td>
<td><a>Deutsches Reich</a></td>
<td><a>[email protected]</a></td>
<td><a>66666</a></td>
<td>
<ul>
<li><a>Reichskanzler</a></li>
<li><a>Fuehrer</a></li>
</ul>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><a>Oppenheimer</a></td>
<td><a>Los Alamos</a></td>
<td><a>[email protected]</a></td>
<td><a>800-GET-A-NUKE</a></td>
<td>
<ul>
<li><a>Hiroshima</a></li>
<li><a>Nagasaki</a></li>
</ul>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
the problem is that links within ul li, as they are styled as block, will trigger a linebreak.
how can i stretch the single links within td? actually: how i can i stretch the clickable background of the links?
i dont want to use rowspan as that would mean counting each li, adding trs and then the rowspan attribute to the cells.
i really don't like that solution and i think that it is wrong as the items in the list are very closely related to the row they are in.
is there any JS free solution?
am i blind? is this easy?
should i us a different markup as this is semantically incorrect?
maybe nested lists?

I just woke up and your question is too long.
We generally have a short attention-span here. Post a codepen, simplify, and I'll look at it.
Tips to increase ad visibility?
CPU is getting cooked.
Ordering a new one.
Which one should I get, the meme version i7-7700k?
please respond
I game almost exclusively and have 2 meme 970s sli and was getting over 144 fps before my piece of shit i5 3470 got memed.
lads
please respond
I don't even know what you're saying. Stop being a faggot dude.
get 6700k Kaby Lake has shit temps and performance gain and Skylake is cheaper now.
Literally no reason to upgrade to Kaby Lake when Skylake is still relevant

I got my "Computer Science" degree from an art school, and am mostly self taught. This is becoming a problem, in that I feel like I'm missing a lot of CS education that I really should have for a college grad.
What is /g/'s recommended way to get the equivalent education of a college degree for free? I've looked at MIT Open Courseware but that seems astoundingly dense, especially with all the prerequisites like calculus and set theory. Is it the best choice? Something else?
> I've looked at MIT Open Courseware but that seems astoundingly dense
perhaps because you're astoundingly dense
>>58773612
If it's the best way forward I'll do it. I'm looking to see if there are alternatives.
>>58773660
you can bone up on the prerequisites (calc and set theory) at Khan Academy

I have a second drive that I use as a downloads folder just so my main disk doesn't get filled up and none of it is organized
How do you anons organize your shit? Mainly pictures
I don't
>>58773545
I already made folders before hand.
>ex. Meme folders, vidyas, porn, etc.
>>58773592
Do you organize your images you get from 4chan? Like reaction images?
Can somebody explain what they mean when they say 'update microcode 19'??
pls help
Google "microcode". CPUs are shitty so sometimes their microcode needs updates to work around hardware bugs.
>>58773631
thanks!
Am I an idiot for buying an i7 4790k today and not upgrading my system to Z170 architecture?
I need the machine for adobe premiere. Would an ssd, some ram, and this i7 be equivalent to a 7700k on a new board with DDR4?
>>58772932
Not really.
Although you are an idiot if you don't OC that k series chip.
Nah. I have a 4790k since the day it was released and I feel like it can be relevant for 10 years. It's extremely hard to shrink the transistor nowadays so we see like +1/2% differences per year.
GPUs only give the delusion of progress because they work easily in parallel. Add more cores, more speed. That is why they are more and more expensive. They order bigger and harder to make dies.
What did you upgraded from? a i5? Matters little anyway. We're talking about the best you could get is like ~5% difference with a new equivalent.
>>58772932
I have an 4790k overclocked to 4.6GHz all cores, I don't see myself upgrading in 5-10 years unless octo-cores become really cheap and hit 5GHz all cores if OCed.
All you really need is an SSD to use as a scratch disk for shit like Photoshop.
