Is ultra-wide (21:9) a meme?

I can't imagine movies being bad on this thing.
Does anyone here have experience with ultra-wide monitors?
14 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
You will enjoy all that extra screen estate but also need to get used to black bars in any type of media (youtube, movies etc.)
>>
>>58829048
I think its widely a meme shilled by the fallen who bought ultra wide monitors. I have to make windows smaller and center them to the middle of the screen after upgrading to 17" laptop from a 12" one. Although it comes down to the personal tastes and your autism level, I would not recommend buying ultra-wides.
>>
>>58829048
If you multitask all the time, these monitors are awesome. It's fantastic to have your code on one side, and documentation on the other side.

In my free time, I also like to browse the chan on one side, and watch anime on the other side, like I'm doing right now.

Pretty comfy desu senpai

I want to see all of the domain names registered to a certain person/organization. I found reversewhois.domaintools.com but it's fee based.
Does anyone know of any tools or websites which will provide similar data?

You could just try looking up their name or company in the search here https://www.whois.net/

Also funfact - The guy in that picture isn't actually using dual monitors, he is using 2 computers at once with a KVM switch

I am a technoautist, learned what bluetooth was last year. I live in linux.

I decided I needed to switch to a smartphone from my old flip phone

Short, which one should I buy ? I don't know anything about smartphone. Budget is around 200$ and I want it to last 3/4 years

you don't need a smartphone, don't listen to the consumerists on this board.

I "upgraded" from Android to a Blackberry Classic just for the keyboard. The browser and noapps keeps me from wasting my time.

Save for the 3T, currently the fastest smartphone to date.

Get a cheap $20 android phone like a moto e while you save enough for a 3T.

I have no internet at home so I have to take my laptop to school or local library/mcdonalds/starbucks/burger king etc to use wifi. The wifi at these places is somewhat quick for smaller files. The file I need to download is a 2002.7 MG (2.0GB) mp3 monster. I'm using Mozilla Firefox add-on downloader to get it. Problem is it says it takes 21 hours each time go to do it. I cant afford to sit and wait all day on public wifi to download this file. The one person I do know who has internet at home has even more shitty wifi than other places. What do I do to finally download this file? I have literally been trying for weeks!

>>
>>58828566
Your best bet is to find a torrent of the file if you can, since torrents are typically faster than direct downloads and after you've spent enough time there you can come back the next day and pick up the download where you left off unlike a direct download
>>
>>58828647
I dont know where to look. Im looking to download a podcast and edit the commercials to make it a smaller file.

I need a program that lets me output different running programs to different audio devices.

Example.
Game > HDMI Audio out
Firefox > PC Line out

I don't even know what words I would use to search for such a thing. I found a few things, but they are all pay shit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Only programs that let me assign the sound device in the settings allow me to do that. Right now, all I can do is change the default device and it carries over too anything currently running. It's a pain in the ass.

Pic is proof for those that didn't believe me.

EVGA rocks, sharing this not to brag, but giving them more positive publicity which I hope doesn't result in a surge of abusers.

On that note, I didn't abuse the system or fish for an upgrade, card just had a stroke then died the same day and I just wanted a working replacement.

If only I could remember the name of the first person/rep that helped me in their online chat.

redpill me on the RHCSA and MCSA. are they both equally worth it pursuing? is one worth it over the other? or are both as worthless as working at mcdonalds?
7 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>58827997
None of the Microsoft ones are worth it, and only get your a monkey position, at best. I've been on many hiring committees at work, and I've seen more than a few resumes discarded for prominently listing their certs.

The RHCSA is a bit better, but I've never worked anywhere where it made a difference for hiring or salary. It might help you get in the door for an interview for a real position.

There's a lot of material in the MCSA but you're going to implement or leverage maybe 30% of the features at your job. Studying will just be rote memorization or some home labbing but not much. MCSE on specific tracks like Communication (Exchange/Skype4Biz) and SQL are good. The one that's just MCSA but with clustering is gay, anyone I know that puts that shit in their email sig can barely replace fuckin keyboards, or they think they're better than the job they were hired to do.

OP get niche certs like Citrix, some elder-tier linux shit like IBM AIX, or just the VCP-DCV

What is the best software to keep my folders mirrored on another drive? I just bought two 8tb drives and I don't want to put them in raid 1 due to incompatibility with other operating systems unless I buy a raid controller.
25 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>58827894
Don't use raid. Use software that that mirror drives and back up every week/month. i.e. Syncback on Windows.
>>
>>58828073
Syncback is freeware is it worth using over alternatives like synctoy? I just want to be sure the software is good before I use it.

How do they work when torrenting will it constantly write while a file is being downloaded? Or can I just schedule it?
>>
>>58827894
FreeFileSync is pretty good.
