Why the hell does the calculator program have to run in the background
It starts faster the next time you open it.
Disable "Superfetch" service.

How pathetic am I?
You're in for a boring, frustrating life young man

My entire life has been boring and frustrating tho
Oh. Well carry on then
I always miss out on these threads, so I'll give it a go
What is the best bang for the buck?
I personally own a Kindle Paperwhite 3, but might want something that would be good to read comics on, what would that be?

Wait a few months https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2hrrE4u91A

That does sound pretty interesting, but I bet I won't like the price of those

What's a good cheap ereader?

It's unusable shit, the devs don't even care about the user base.
>muh plugins
If you need 10 plugins to get a barely functional DE then you just've got a shit DE
>uTorrent 2.2.1

Open source torrent clients are truly shit.
Glad I didn't listen to /g/'s lies.
utorrent is only like 200kb and qb is like 30mb
>>58890393
sad huh?

I feel bad for your HDD.
Good 2017 anti-virus? I'm thinking about Avira or Mcafee.

None, they're the digital equivalent of sugar pills

>not using DNS Crypt
You retards know that your DNS lookups can be easily spoofed without you knowing, right?
https://dnscrypt.org/
Don't worry anon, I'm using it.
>>58890323
>adding all that latency at the DNS resolving stage just to satisfy some tinfoil fantasies
No thanks. I don't have time to wait for several seconds just for a webpage to even start getting downloaded.
>>58890759
You are a total fucking moron. 127.0.0.1 is DNSCrypt using OpenDNS servers. As you can see it is barely slower than using regular OpenDNS.
FUCKING IDIOT
Post computer pictures ITT
This is the thread for pictures of computers and computer-related things.
Isn't anime illegal in canada?
>>58890080
Being a man is illegal there, so I would guess so.
Wait, I get it now.
If you're so concerned with privacy, why not use StartPage?
>Google search results, with complete privacy protection. Behind StartPage is an european company that has been obsessive about privacy since 2006
DuckDuckGo doesn't even get a mention on privacytools.io
Duckduck.go's results are not that impressive tbqh.
I use the superior Searx.

It's now February 2017.
I think we can consider it dead now. Even VLC is being updated far more frequently than MPC-HC at this point.
RIP in peace, MPC-HC.
>>58889702
vlc niggers are in constant need for updates
MPC is just perfect, it doesn't need any updates anymore.
Who fucking cares. It still works and does what I need it to do. Retard.

Will it print?

Yes, retard.
Who fell for the ThinkPad meme here?
be me, buy t530
>shit battery life
>shit performance
>shit screen
>unnecessarily thick and bulky with no reason to be
but its got a magnesium rollcage™ Trackpoint™ and ThinkLight™
I'm sorry but these benefits are actually shit, all the things people actually value in a laptop aren't present.
>muh build quality
My t520 creaks and groans every time I put my hands down on the palm rest to type. Honestly it's total shit.
>>58889337
>Buying anything newer than the T420
You can't say you fell for the meme when you didn't even do it right
>>58889426
This.
Are you a loser because you don't use social media or do you not use social media because you're a loser
>>58889000
I do use social media though. Not as much as I used to, but still to a degree. Parties, gigs, student stuff, a lot of event planning and organizing is done through Facebook, at least from my experience. I don't use Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat though, never got into them.
>>58889000
you're a loser if you think you need social media validation to be a "winner"
you actually "win" when you start not giving a fuck. you'll always care a little bit because you're human, but as you get older you'll find freedom in not caring what other people think.
for real, when you get older, you'll look back at your social media days and physically cringe.
>>58889000
>Are you a loser because you don't use social media or do you not use social media because you're a loser
I don't use a lot social media because i am a loser
And i am a bit paranoid so i will Install gentoo soon
is /g/ going to buy this technology?
Probably not
>$300
>plus $70 for the non-shit controller
>plus $70 for spla2oon
>plus $60 a year to play online
that's $500 to play a single game
absolutely not, I hope that shit crashes and burns
On sale, in the future. Not at launch. Still hoping Nintendo goes 3rd party so I don't need to buy it at all.
It's already the year 2017.
Why do you still block ads?
That said. If you still block ads, you have ten seconds to post why you do.
Excuses like these will only get you nowhere, especially if you're on a stable connection ;
- Adware/Malware/Spyware. Sure, the exception's there if you're dumb/stupid to enough to infect yourself somehow.
- "I don't like ads"
- Page load times.
- "YouTube ads" are basically useless excuses now. You're either smart or dumb enough to not download YouTube videos and watch them in your preferred qualities and resolutions in your preferred media player(s) and likely dumb enough to not have autoplay disabled somehow. YouTube Red is basically YouTube ad-free, you've no excuse to even use your ad blocker here anymore.
Reminder that if you still block ads up to this very day and year ; YOU ARE THE FUCKING PROBLEM, not the advertisers.
What's your excuse this time, /g/?
>>58888374
I sexually get off on wasting people's bandwidth while giving them no ad moneys
F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5 F5
I block ads to upset fags like you.
Because I don't like seeing them. Is that a fucking problem? I don't like them wasting my space and time.
If people don't block them, that makes them effective, meaning there will then be more. If they become ineffective, maybe content creators won't have to get money from annoying their users and instead by actually making a quality product.
