Sumatrapdf is dogshit at rendering this specific pdf I have, although it doesn't help that the file is 900mb. What is the fastest pdf viewer?

I personally use Adobe Acrobat XI. Doesn't have a shit UI like the new one, and works well. Light.

Now that the Chinese apps aren't working in Western countries anymore, which options are available in 2017?
The last one I used was Beatport but they killed their streaming. The only options are podcasts and the datpiff app for mixtapes if you're into that kind of music.
Datpiff is dope. Also check out NPR One app
Google play.
Its not free, but it has a great radio algorithm.

Hi, does anybody know if there exists a program, that you could put all the shortcuts (of games and programs) in it that would be then listed in sections. Looks like pic related (except that's an addon from WoW).

What CPU cooler are you currently using?
I currently use the hyper 212 Evo and it works fine. It's really quiet and was pretty cheap. My temps were fine on the stock cooler but it sounded like a fucking turbine.
I thought about water cooling but it seems pointless because I don't overclock (i5 6500). I've never used watercooling in any builds because i'm afraid it would leak all over my shit.
The cryorig H7 sir :)
>>58917413
I've used several over the last few years. I have two Hyper 212+, one with the original fan still running and one with a Gentle Typhoon AP-14, obviously the one with the Typhoon is much quieter and more effective but both get the job done (both are cooling AMD FX CPUs, one is an FX-6100 in my NAS and the other was an FX-8350 in my brother's gaming computer), I'm using a Phanteks PH-TC14PE on my i5-4690k, I recently replaced the loud ass stock cooler on my friends' i7 2600k with a PH-TC12DX. The Phanteks coolers are quieter than the stock Hyper 212+ and they cool better, but I'd like to compare with a NH-D14/15 because I think the Noctua coolers are slightly better.
>>58917591
I should also mention that the FX-8350 is the one with they Typhoon, and it's OC'd at 4.4GHz stable.

As opposed to...?
Who else never updates their software? I find a setup that works and stick with it unless I really have to. Every other update seems to make an app or device slower, less stable, buggier, less predictable (UI "overhauls"), or just generally worse.
>>58917312
Just you, if you're that skeptical just update, see if it's better, and if it's not just load in the older version via Time Machine.
>>58917312
As a rule you should never update anything unless you need the fixes that the update provides. This is especially true for operating systems.
>>58917399
That works for OSX, usually. It's harder on Windows. On Android it only works if you can find a reliable source of APKs. It's very difficult on desktop Linux if the software was from a package manger, because everything updates in lockstep. It's impossible on non-jailbroken iOS. And that's only talking about app updates- system/device firmware updates are often irreversible.
Currently installing ghanoo/Linux. What should i install on it first?

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you describe as GNU/Linux is actually NSA/Windows 10/GNU/Linux or as I've recently been calling it, NSA+Windows 10+GNU+Linux.
So now that Linux is officially dead should I switch to bsd?

Well, I got memed /g/, I bought a fucking RX480 for a sidegrade coming from a GTX 970.
Issues that I have encountered:
>runs hotter and louder than my GTX 970
>performance in DX11 games (FO4, GTAV) is exactly the same as my heavily overclocked 970, or sometimes even less.
>Lower performance in Cemu (Wii U emualtor) to a point where Mario Kart 8 was perfectly playable on the GTX 970, to being completely unplayable on the Radeon and with 4 players.
>The core barely overclocks without melting my whole house down (1.1v 1350Mhz), the VRAM OCs nicely though, from 1750mhz to 2250Mhz
>the Digital Vibrance equivalent doesn't exist on the AMD drivers, it was deleted for some reason (check the AMD forums), but I downloaded a program for it so not a big deal
And several other issues with games like Fifa 17.
On the plus side, I only paid 175 for this shit, and I still haven't sold my GTX 970, so I will probably not lose too much money when I sell this poo-in-loo card.
And yes the performance on DX 12 games Is a little bit better, but playing BF1 at 90 fps or 105 fps really doesn't mean much to me when half of the other shit is broken.
Anyways, fuck you /g/. I'm not listening to you again.

Probably fell for the AMD fine wine memes.
>you can't save a picture on a website because the right-click menu is for an invisible element over it designed to stop you from copying the picture
>you can't link to a picture because the server redirects to the picture's webpage
What the fuck is it with those cheap web programming tricks being so popular and used on all major websites nowadays? Why do businesses suddenly feel entitled to keep content from spreading over the web?
It wouldn't be so bad if it was the proprietary content of the websites I'm talking about, but this meme is all over social medias, gaming network, even fucking image sharing websites. That's people's content. They should be free to copy and link to it as much as they want.
Web browsers should be designed to allow users to save or copy the link to a picture regardless of what else the page's code has to say about it. People who don't want to play by the Internet's rules shouldn't be on the Internet in the first place.
>what is print screen
>save page
>dig up the image from the saved version
>>58917195
1. There's a question of principle behind it.
2. If the picture is scaled down, you will get the scaled down picture.
3. If the picture has JPEG artifacts, you're going to get an original picture with JPEG artifacts + the compression added when you save it + the JPEG artifacts the website you publish it to adds if they convert it to JPEG.

What will happen when x86 inevitably becomes obsolete? Will we be able to emulate all old software we've accumulated so far? Will there be a massive effort to port everything? Should we worry?
>>58916705
why would that be inevitable?
>>58916714
Because everything does eventually and intel can barely squeeze out more performance from their CPUs, or it's because they have monopoly and are lazy depending on your perspective. You'd think with all the money they spend on R&D they would at least have something
>>58916705
>What will happen when x86 inevitably becomes obsolete?
Lots of things.
>Will we be able to emulate all old software we've accumulated so far?
Probably. The ISA would basically be dead otherwise.
>Will there be a massive effort to port everything?
No fucking way.
>Should we worry?
You should worry about intel trying to create another Itanium and force the market to adopt it.
