No one on this shitty normie-infested board will remember that site, or even isoHunt. I don't even know why I bother to come here anymore. I bet they don't even remember the KaZaA days.
I overheard some normies in class talking about the "deep web".
One was saying that it's like 100 times bigger then the normal web, and what we know as the web is only the tip of the ice berg.
Is this true?
I've used Tor before and I don't see how there can be so much content when it's so fucking slow.
>>58965126
In this context "deep web" means content which isn't indexed by search engines, not just content that exists on anonymous networks
>>58965126
the 'deep web' is a meme
>>58965126
Deep Web is fake. All it is is torrents, game, Skype calls, and private networks.
Anything you need to log into or is not accessible to everyone is the deep Web

Wait.
1. Your "dream job" is developing Wordpress sites?
2. They fired you STRAIGHT AWAY because your computer had problems?

I used to be a math guy, but I've been out of the game for years. My instinct is that you can probably get the first one with math induction, then the second one can be proved with the first.

are there any CPU purchasing sites that let you enter in the apps and programs you usually run to let you see how efficient a CPU will perform?
meaning you could select a browser and how many tabs you might have open, plus other apps and whether you're also streaming HD video and how many monitors ect...
rather than just baseless "single and multithreaded benchmarks"
>>58963569
That depends on the level of the user. Some bloat their system. Also, don't ditch single-threaded benchmarks, because multithreaded benchmarking is where most of the stupidity occurs, e.g. if a game uses ALL threads at 100% there is nothing telling you if it did it efficiently, because you might be flooding it with inefficient occurrences of mutex locks.

Hey /g/, I'm considering buying a 2012 era (possibly not functioning) Macbook Pro for cheap off eBay, tearing it apart and building/modding it back up with new hardware, retina, ssd, expanded ram.
Anyone have prior experience, thoughts, discussion?
It's probably cheaper to just buy a Thinkpad, but I get off on rebuilding things and I think I can get it to work affordably.
My old laptop shit the bed and I thought it'd be a decent project.

I approve i did the same thing, now i have a mac with fast ssd bunch of ram and latest Macos for cheap
Those old models are fat as fuck, huge bezel, etc. If you can pull it off for a low price I suppose it's fine, but otherwise you're better off just saving your McDonald's money and putting the investment toward a proper new one or a gently used but still working one.
