Where was it designed and manufactured? What's the significance to you?
Pic unrelated.

Kindle Paperwhite. Had it since 2013, still going strong. The backlight is perfect. I use it every night to read. Charge it about once a week. I've read hundreds of books on it and have taken it to three different continents while traveling / living abroad. Unless the battery dies I'll probably have it for another 5-10 years.
The only thing that would make me upgrade would be if amazon started selling a fully waterproof kindle. I like reading in the bath and it'd be nice to not have to worry about getting this shit wet.

That's pretty recent but not a bad choice.
How do I set up a wireless connection when going through Arch Linux installation when my wifi has a captive portal login?
Using wifi-menu, when I ping I get "3 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss".
Is there a better guide than the wiki? I've tried all the solutions on the wiki and nothing seems to work.
if it has a captive portal, you should be able to log in using elinks.
>>62194021
Ok, So I just used elinks with my default gateway address (found from another computer) and with captive.apple.com. The default gateway didn't allow me to authorize even on the computer I'm using now that's connected to the network (?), and captive.apple.com said "success". Not sure how to interpret this
>>62194124
Wait, I fixed it. I think by typing in captive.apple.com it "activated" my connection. Can now ping and yada yada. Maybe because it's a captive portal that recognizes my laptop, and I'm dual-booting Linux? I don't know enough to know right now. Thank you so much though :) here is a puppy
C - Great language, or greatest language ever?
Does C++ even have a chance?
Learning it right now on my own..new to computer science all I can say is I like how it requires you to know how the computer works in conjunction with the language.
>>62193966
The day I started with C in our programming class I understood this was the one language every programmer needs to learn.
You can see it as the jack of all trades language.

Forth is 100x better.
Is there truly a reason for Firefox to run like hot garbage on macOS?
It doesn't matter what build I use, profile, addon configuration, or about:config settings; it runs like trash.
I really don't want to go back to Chrom* and Safari is laughable at best with its lack of addon support.
>runs a garbage OS
>surprised when programs run poorly
it runs like trash on everything
>>62194018
This, I'm surprised it even ran at all given how shoddily Mac OS handles programs.

Found a very decent image dumper recently for 4chan, but it's last update was back in 2013 so as you'd imagine it's totally outdated.
Luckily the tripfag who made it also included the source in the zip download, so we could theoretically get it fixed and working.

Thought about it but don't really give a shit about playing games that badly.
The x230 can already play a lot of older games and modern less intensive ones. I don't feel like playing triple a garbage or pubg or whatever.

Can we all finally agree that adblocking doesn't work? How long have we been blocking ads for? A decade? More than a decade?
And what has that done for the internet? Absolutely nothing and the internet has even become worse... MUCH WORSE!
Adtech companies are more numerous than ever and they're more aggressive than ever. They collect tons of data on everyone.
Google is now the biggest ad company in the world and they're pure fucking evil and censor everyone who's not an SJW.
Since ad blocking doesn't do shit and actually makes advertising more profitable since ads don't get shown to people who don't like them and would never click on them, it's time for a change.
It's time to use the nuclear option: automated ad clicking.
Have you installed Adnauseam yet /g/? Are you fighting back against Adtech and Google?

anyone know a good place to backup 51GB of images ?, I already keep them on a bluray in a safe in addition to my home server but really I would like an online backup outside of my home. Preferably cheap and I don't mind if its botnet really, these pictures aren't really of any value to anyone but me and I can always encrypt the archive if I have to.

Origin has stopped working since the last update. I have tried every single solution to this problem and still nothing
>deleting and downloading .dlls
>Reinstalling vcredlist
>Reinstalling service pack 1
>Doing a manual uninstall of origin
Can /g/ help me?
>>62193434
I also cleaned the registry with CCcleaner and still nothing. Origin crushes during installation with the error message in the OP
