Why are forum moderators so retarded? Whats wrong with Necroposting if its providing a constructive and helpful solution to a problem? Aghhhh, fuck.
>>59203929
4chan and leldick moderation is also retarded. there's no alternative
>>59203929
Heh. More like:

>Post new thread asking if anyone solved it
>"Use the search function. Banned."

Hi /g/ I have been starting to learn programming (I am currently at the first phase of phyton documentation) and I wonder whether if compiling a program takes too much time. Should I save up money to but Ryzen or Kaby Lake (I think they will have significant price drops when I start compiling complex things)? Will it have significant impact on my productivity?
>>59203911
>phyton
>compiling
?
Unless you write thousands upon thousands of lines of code your programs should compile reasonably fast. If you are using Python there is no reason to compile anything.
>>59203911
>Will it have significant impact on my productivity?
No.

>Will it have significant impact on my productivity?
only if you write incredibly shit code, otherwise it should compile in a matter of seconds
so, apparently my gamepad charger seems to be malfunctioning, as everytime i plug it in, the gamepad just dies. it wont even show any charging light, no picture, wont turn on, nothing....that is, until i unplug the charger. then i can turn it back on and it works as normal, as you can see on pic related.
now, i can get a replacement for this thing for less than 10$, but i'm curious: what the heck is the charger doing to provoke this? i dont really understand how these things work. is it overvolting so the pad just locks down for safety or something?
a damaged charging port is out of the question as the behaviour is the same on both the normal charging port on top and the cradle one on the bottom.
I would see if anyone you know has a Wii U and if you can try their charger and use yours with their gamepad. Could also be a faulty battery or gamepad
No, it's not normal to be playing video games at this age.

yep, im planning on doing that tomorrow. if it's the battery, i can also easily and cheaply replace it, but if it's the pad itself it's gnna be a bitch
How do you determine if a product is worth the money? Sure, an iPhone is just another phone with a polished UI but even if only has the illusion of being a premium product, isn't that enough for chicks to notice you?
I just tell my mom to buy me the newest iPhone or I threaten to kill myself.
It depends. For me it's price to performance ratio. I just bought an iPhone SE from Boost Mobile for 120 and I'm gonna unlock it using one of those unlock sites for 40 bucks. That's gonna be 160 for a device that should last 3-4 years. Would I buy one for 399? Nope. I'd buy a different device. For lower because the performance I need is available at a lower cost.
And that's just my preference, it's a bit smarter to future proof yourself in some cases. Who tries to pick up chicks using a phone?
You do realize that iPhones are becoming a symbol of homosexuality right?
In the construction company I work at the very few who have iphones are actually literal faggots in real life.
What do you guys think about this one? Should I even consider buying one?
PLEASE do not even mention Samsung.
I'd wait for the Samsung S8.
>>59203655
No thanks, samsung is total shit.
>>59203706

Why do people not just use letsencrypt?
>>59203500
Lets encrypt certs expire too, you know. Mine is due to expire in 59 days.
I hope the RAM issues will be resolved soon and that single core on r5 is matching the intel line.
r7 is pretty competitive to 2011 platform if u dont need dem pci lanes. Imho fills the gap between "cheap" 1151 and kinda overpriced 2011
>>59203347
I want to see the server boards and how they deal with PCIe lanes.
Naples, the server and enterprise adaptation of Zen, will feature 2 8-core modules on a single die, so it'll have double the PCIe lanes of the R7 lineup.
No solid word on Naples pricing however.
just like intel has xeon that arent compatible to consumer boards anymore

Does anyone know MIPS assembly?
How do i remove any leading and trailing zeros from a number?
I am learning about loading and storing bytes.
given a number like 000011, or 001111000, or 11100, I have to print it without the leading/trailing zeros
ex: 0011100 -> 111
the numbers are stored in a buffer " .space 20 "
what I have done so far is starting from the right side of the number 001100, find the first nonzero number and then store the rest of the numbers to a new buffer.
number is now: 1100
Then from the right side of the new number, find the first nonzero, and store the rest to a new buffer.
number is now: 11
BUT the problem is if i print the new buffer,it will still print out trailing zeros because the buffer is too big.
how do I make a buffer just big ENOUGH to fit the number without the zeros?
am i overthinking this? Is there a MIPS function or shortcut that can do this for me?
please help!
thanks!
>>59202929
I don't know MIPS. But I know C.
And the solution would be:
- if it's a 32bit val 00011100, identify the offset to the first 1, and then bitshift it left e.g. 00011100 << 3 = 11100000
- if it was a string "0011100", move the pointer -3, "111000"

sell your AMD stock while its worth anything
>>59202781
>extremely favorable preview benchmarks
Who would've thought?
>>59202781
Looks fine to me, if anyone is serious about stocks, feel free to sell now, the dip will continue a bit. AMDs next quarterly review should be around 4/21, and it will increase YOY revenue, and the following quarter will be a return to profit which will help the stock greatly.
LAMO!!!
Not only is Ryzen a shit CPU, the AMD chipsets you're forced to use with it will gimp your entire system too.

Now that the top of like processors are coming out, will laptops finally become a bit cheaper? Or go on sale?
>>59201870
No, it's not 2003 anymore.
There are laptops produced that are cheap from the start, however.
