Is this stupid form factor really the best they can do for convertible laptops?
>>59226443
It seems like it's what the market wants in terms of convertibles.
It's the best design we have for most users.
>>59226458
What the hell was wrong with this?
>>59226443
Yes. Because the underlying problem is that a convertible is a stupid idea.
How come now when you expand an image, it'll automatically put the post text under it. It used to just slide the next to the side if the image wasn't too big.
Why is hiro always fucking shit up?
>>59226371
So you can have characters looking down on your quotes in a smug way.

This
Thank you gook moot.
Was thinking of getting pic related as my first major phone investment in quite a while, it'll be an upgrade to my S3. Any suggestions on what case to get?
>investment
phones are not an investment the value will pretty much always depreciate
>>59226027
Not that, since it's botnet. You're better off sticking with the S3 and installing Replicant. That's about as good as it gets with smartphones and privacy.
>>59226931
> s3
>"as good as it gets"
are you okay in the head?
My friend is looking to move his 700w power supply and GPU into a new mobo with a new processor.
I'm thinking he may also want to scrap his stock dell case (or keep it for comedic effect).
His budget is $160 tops.
I've recommended him to try out AMD builds, but can he even get anything decent out of 160?
>>59225607
define decent
No. 160 is the price for a decent motherboard by itself. Tell your friend to keep saving cause he's going to end up wasting his money trying to get some curry tier set up for 160.
>>59225693
Basic functionality and the ability to game on lower-mid settings. He's not looking for a direct upgrade, just a lil boost because we're pretty sure his 5-year-old intel processor is shitting the bed.
I want to go full freetard.
As I understand it, Libreboot is the only option. Or is there a viable alternative?
What is the best laptop for Libreboot?
T400/X200 or is there a better/more modern option?
I have done some research but ultimately I do not want to pass on /g/'s wisdom
>>59224819
>those weak mascots
I bet you that fossfags would attract 100x more people with cute anime girls since the only losers that use foss are already the weeb kind.
Look at fucking 9front, went from 16 installations to near 100.
>>59224819
Asus c201 with libreboot is freer than a wild stallion's nuts swinging in the wind during the fifth fuck of the day. No microcode and free firmware!
Some of you are alright. Don't use non-free software tomorrow.
Kill yourself. Retard.
>>59224573
Thanks for the inspirational words, bro.
>>59224573
I'll be on my 12.9" iPad Pro. Come at me, bro.
what hack is this /g ?
The ultimate one
The one I'm going to use to go back and have you aborted.
someone ported a macos feature to linux ELITE
What /g/ opinion on "Sailfish OS"?
cucknet
I've used it on a Nexus 5. Native app development is basically dead (and was barely even alive in the first place as evidenced by the lack of existing native apps). The gesture based experience is fucking shit if you decide you want to use a case with a lip that covers the screen edge, since the OS sucks at registering swipes from the display edge. Every little thing about the UI is just backwards and stupid.
Don't even waste your time.
>>59224059
The fact he even had to ask says everything..
>Have a g50 45
>keyboard is ok
>THERES A FUCKING BUTTON THAT KILLS THE OPEN WINDOW
WTF is this shit? Can't dipshits just alt-f4? Can't you just ctrl-shift-escape then kill process? If you using Linux you just open a fucking terminal and xkill a window. WHY DO I NEED A BUTTON ON MY KEYBOARD THAT INSTANTLY KILLS AN OPEN WINDOW?? I've closed out several times open windows I didn't want to close cause this bullshit key exists.
>>59223961
>AMD A8
I think that's the bigger problem here.
>>59223961
what button is it?
nigga where
Education.
>>59223952
Praise Pepe-Tzeentch
>>59223952
You quit.
Paul's Hardware has a recent monthly builds video with an X99 build.
Literally why ? Isn't that platform dead now?
>>59223771
>still being sold AND a current gen platform
>dead
pick one.
>>59223793
Dead as in no one will buy it with Ryzen being half the price with the same performance.
But you knew this
In which point you didn't give a shit about ricing anymore and settled on what your distro gave you? This is my third week on linux and after trying a dozen of distros I just said fuck it and settled on ubuntu 16.04 lts.
when i installed macos
a fucking hackintosh is more stable than desktop lunix
>>59223736
I never really gave a shit about ricing. I downloaded the source code of dwm, modified config.h with some colors to match my wallpaper, applied the autostart patch, typed make, waited 10 seconds, typed make install, created the xsession file so lightdm would detect it, and voila, I have a working system. Took me around 10 minutes.
Anyway, my OS is Debian 9 ("Stretch")
Stop being a pop culture.
Did you stop?
>>59223460
I'm trying, Mr Kay.
>>59225108
How many philosophy books have you read?
what do you say?
I liek chocolate milk.
Good acpi comparability and/or create your own ec file for Linux so users can disable the backlight from sysfs etc.
