It might be on Mook's side.
Like he just disables it.
Works for me
Why are they so irrelevant?
>>59265058
Why is the company with the largest market cap in the world irrelevant?
They gave the meaning to the souless electronics more than all the other brands combined together.
They have the best just werks ecosystem desktop-mobile.
Best design.
Best resell value.
Jobs is gone. For a cult they've done well not to completely fall apart after the death of the leader.
But their influence will peter out.
THREE STAR REVIEW ON AMAZON
Pffft...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
AMDrones everyone
>>59265055
AMD is paying people to write Amazon reviews
See >>59241941
>>59265081
How is he wrong though?
The reviewer gave the product a 3/5 on Amazon when he bought it on Newegg just because Amazon didn't have enough to give him one.
What's a convenient way to watch shit with friends? I used to play it on livestream but the delay is too unbearable anymore.
just have them over and play it on your tv, OP :~)

raqbbit works pretty well.
SyncPlay may be what you're looking for.
Starting to program, wondering about bracket placement. So..
This
method() {
good = true;
}
or this
method()
{
good = true;
}
The last one is better
Most ide automatically does this if you format it
Personally I prefer the 2nd but it looks stupid for small methods or if statements that only have 1 line to execute.
Honestly do what works for you but be consistent.
Doesnt really matter. Second one is what your compiler makes it look like if you format it
Hey guys I was thinking of upgrading my GPU. I currently have a 970 and was looking at possibly buying a 1080. Is now a good time to upgrade? I play a couple games but I mostly use use my graphics card for 3D work. "Can't afford a quadro." My 970 and its dumb vram meme makes it pretty slow for what I'm doing. Any suggestions?
>I mostly use use my graphics card for 3D work.
>>59265248
What?..
Why you didn't specify applications you are using? Are your applications utilizing cuda or opencl or something different (fp64, fp32 workflows)? Is it so hard to write all the relevant info in first post?
How long until smartphones can run this?
>>59264716
How long until you stupid videogaymerz come back to /v/?
>>59264822
this. It start to be annoying to have so many threads that should be in /v/
Why the hell you guys don't post there ?
How stupid is the average /technology/ user? They are way overrated. The average IT worker is more stupid than a plumber, really. They only know how to do basic rudimentary googling and their solutions are literally trash. I have never completed a CS-related degree and I can easily beat them in solutions; e.g. when they "Clean" a PC they usually just install a shitty "live" antivirus (say avg) which is a stupid idea to begin with.
Then, if you look at actual technology graduates they are full of shit. The average CS related graduate is a stupid shit that either does rudimentary staff on Visual Basic or similar hand-holded technology or he is a literal autistic sperg stuck into his linux terminal pretending to be a genius. They never do anything worthwhile in their lives.
It's not a coincidence that the most successful "computer" people are not tech literates, they are businessmen. Gates just plain bought MS DOS from someone else. Jobs just put others to do most if all the work for him and he was just the front man, the circus ringmaster.
>>59264674 (OP)
>How stupid is the average /technology/ user?
Quite stupid. They believe shit like 99cores of AMD are going to be great. They believe shit like Windows 10 is dangerous when they pretend it's hard to be protected from it because they are computer illiterate.
Daily reminder.
>>59264674
>The average IT worker is more stupid than a plumber, really
Citation fucking needed. Additionally, the vast majority of plumbers I've hired have been smart people. Smart enough to run successful businesses in an industry that certainly isn't going anywhere soon.
Fuck off OP
Does anyone use tox for normal, day-to-day communication? I'm intrigued by the protocol, and I really like the toxic cmd line client. Or is this whole thing dying sooner or later?
Basically just needs a security audit and the ability to set up a server at home to catch messages and sent messages when both parties that aren't online concurrently

p2p is future.
currency - bitcoin
marketplace - openbazaar (wait for 2.0 this year)
>>59264627
I hope some /g/ programmers develop that.
That + tor = awesome.
what are some cool softwares that you use on a regular basis that was made by just some dude but you become quite reliant upon?
isboxer is made by like 1 dude I think??
it's really neat boxing software for mmos
MQ is a botting software for everquest that probably only a few hundred people use. It was always updated within hours of new patches, by only a handful of people. Pretty cool.

i too would like to know...
Guys i have a question for you.
How has the internet affectd your life?
What person do you think you would be without The Big Net?
>>59264511
It taught me good grammar and how to spell correctly... I suggest you use it some more.
I'm 28, so I've been affected pretty fucking drastically.
I first got online regularly when I was 12, and the rest I'll bullet point in greentext
>started talking to my first gf in AIM when I was 14
>lost my virginity to her
>met lots of people through AOL chatrooms, the teen ones, some I still talk to
>stayed away from Myspace, just spectated and jacked off to friends pictures
>was one of the first ones on Facebook back in 2006, shit was tits
>party invites (legit college ragers, not bullshit ones), girls would actually approach someone, no mom/dad/aunt/grandma overlooking everything, lots of bikini pictures
>finally in like 2010 all my family got on there, it's sucked fucking dick ever since.
>2007 I found 4chan
>oh the fucking lulz
>/r9k/ was the intellectual hub, /o/ talked about cars, no /shittygeneral/ threads, /b/ was still about stuff other than 'hey guys lets post pictures to jerk off to'
for what it's worth, this was maybe a couple months after the stormfront bullshit
>found out about reddit
>despite the obvious 'safe haven' feel, reddit is definitely the current intellectual hub and free-ish speech icon of the internet
>still keep reddit's front page as my home page
>after moot left 4chan, I stopped browsing so much
>so many kids under 18 who should be watching quality movies or reading good books instead of people get their heads cut off in .gifs
>no more moderation for quality's sake
>the overall intelligence level has gone down by a noticeable amount
>but here I am browsing /g/ at 3:30am
If anyone has any questions or whatever, I'll be keeping track of this thread.
>>59264602
sorry i just realized i got off track
the internet both took away my social life because i stay inside and browse 4chan and reddit and gave me a social life because i wasn't confident enough to approach girls without talking to them online first. but i can feel that i'm still online way too much, whether it's my phone or computer, so i can't help but be grateful but i do need to get off of it as a social mechanism at some point. internet socializing is very lacking to me. face-to-face is so much better for my soul.
if i didn't have it though, i'd probably still be at home jerking off to shonen jump or some shit instead of listening to my girlfriend sleep in the other room.
>he fell for the ram meme
literally not doing anything
this is the last thread you make about ram bitch
>>59264321
photoshop doesnt even have an image loaded atm, lol
enjoy your 16gb ramlets
>>59264321
If you really have nothing to do with that extra 19 or so GB get yourself a light linux distro and RAMDisk that shit.
Wait so it's on par with a 7700K at 1080P gaming, plus it destroys it outside of games in applications?
This is without it even being patched in Windows and in games, and with SMT issues which need to be patched.
I'm seriously considering buying one of these, it's perfect for a bit of future proofing with the extra cores too.
AAAA
GO AWAY
GO BACK TO THE VIDEO GAMES BOOOAAAARD TO TALK ABOUT YOUR CONSOLES
You're going to need to wait anyway since the mobos are sold out to all fuck, but you might as well wait, since it's not some extreme unexpected performance gain
>>59264287
When will you ever learn?
I made a magnet top you can spin to make electricity.
Does that count as tech?
>>59264196
Probably /diy/
But pretty cool, how quickly does the induction slow down the top?
>>59264237
depends on the circuit. A buzzer or a voltmeter doesn't seem to slow the spin at all, but led's reduce spin times from 4+ minutes down to 30 sec ~ 1 min depending on how aggressively I use the light.
