Ok, /g/, school starts soon again and I have been using the same hp pavilion dv4 laptop for a few years now that I got from a friend who was upgrading. I am a very patient person and don't mind waiting a bit for shit to load so I can do work. My only issue is this thing sounds like a fucking lawnmower at all the wrong times, otherwise I am alright with its performance. The keyboard is very comfy and the screen is also nice so that is why I have kept it.
Whats a good laptop I can get for class for a somewhat decent price. I was going through the /tpg/ and the x220 looks good, thoughts? No gayming, just coding and maybe some chink shit cartoons here and there.

No, not really. Its always been like this. I have cleaned it out a handful of times but it continues to be loud as fuck.

I need to boot into/install a Linux distro from boot, problem is my flash drive is only showing up under Legacy when I try to change the boot order. This seems to be an endless string of bullshit and I just want to get it over with. What do I need to do to get this over with

Are there any workstation graphics cards that are worth looking out for? So far I have found this one, the Radeon Sky 700:

That thing looks designed for chassis cooling. Fins aren't open to the outside and no way is that big enough to passively cool a 225W card.

Yeah, it would be challenging to come up with a cooling solution. It might be possible to just swap the cooler from a different card. As the new Vega cards become standard I will look for one of these to mess around with and maybe put in a craigslist gaming PC. That 6gb of vram looks good to the casuals.

I want a simple program that helps me memorize shit: You first enter the text/number you want to memorize, then you feed in each individual character from memory. You continuously type until you get it wrong, when the program tells you you fucked up and give you the right answer, and you can choose to start over or move on. Took inspiration from this: https://www.sporcle.com/games/g/pi except i want mine to be much simpler looking and have no uplimit of characters
Does anyone know how to make this? I have no programming exp myself lol can u guys help me out
