Should I update my Nvidia drivers or not?
I have a gtx 960 and haven't updated since the 1000-series launched, i dont want my GPU to be nerfed ;_;
I have the 980 and I've only seen performance improvements with the new drivers. I was pretty much forced to get them because of for honor.

Pascal is pretty much 14nm Maxwell with some improvements, don't expect any gimping until Volta releases.
Why would anyone buy Ryzen when you can get an Intel chip that performs better and is half the price.

If only they weren't so autistic about free software, they could be taken seriously as a linux distribution

The $90 B350 boards are good for 3.9ghz all core at the very least.
If you're lucky with silicon, I've heard of some getting almost 4.1 with them. They'll handle at least 1.35v fine, basically. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Dbt_7FiD8hTo2uuOIKBE3ATCDRqVRpAHFsKnieEncv0/edit#gid=87938175
Personally, I'd OC whatever you can get on around 1.25-1.33v. They put out too much heat after that. A B350 board will handle that fine so there is little point in getting an X370 unless you want the extra features. The VRMs on most B350 are fine.

I guess lol. Was using a 965 x4. Video rendering on that pos was a bit slower. Have an installation video and the cpu only got to 59c rendering it so i think im in the clear.

I am currently learning programming and I am reasonably good at maths.
What is the best way to start learning about how hardware works?
Do I have to study physics from scratch?
Is there a top-down approach to learning hardware? Like, will learning about Arduino or Raspberry Pi help me in understanding how hardware works?
Can someone please reply?
How can so many people be this cold?
I will not let this thread die.
Hi Guys, I've been looking at getting a new audio setup and during research have come across FLAC time and time again. Do any of you swear by FLAC? I understand if FLAC is just for studio use but can a noticeable difference be found?
You're gonna get a lot of edgelords and that's probably your faggy endgoal, but for the off chance thats not the case:
FLAC is just as good for listening as 320kbps MP3 is, but FLAC is GOAT for archival purposes. And if you care about your grimes discog, that's pretty sweet.
You can transcode to superior future lossy codec if you keep your music in a lossless formats like flac.
>>59363919
Yes, you can tell the difference. I prefer FLAC but if there's something I like that's only in a lossy format then I'll just listen to the lossy format. My music folder is probably 90% FLAC.
