I really hate how people who put these things on store products almost ALWAYS put them next to the damn UPC. I've been advised that the best beginner Linux distro that works and looks nice without tweaking is Solus by a colleague. I'm going to try installing a distro on my laptop since windows has gotten too slow on it.
I've checked the repo and it seems to have everything I'll use, it's fast, stable, bleeding edge, and rolling release.
What does /g/ think?

I figured this was the right board for my question. In about an hour Daylight Saving Time begins here on the East Coast. This gives me my semi-annual chance to synchronize all the clocks in my house. I've noticed a three second discrepancy between my phone (Verizon) and my laptop. My laptop is three seconds ahead of my phone. Which device should I use as a base clock to set all the rest of my clocks? I want all of them showing the exact accurate time.

how does arch compare to gentoo? you have to compile/build all your shit for gentoo, but arch is rolling release with a big repo and yaourt. which is more gratifying? i want to try and build stuff, but i like going through the repository for cli programs and try out different hotkeys. navigating through a terminals seems fun. i can do it in gentoo but i dont know what their repo is like. i guess ill try both out. sorry for posting.

gentoo user here. you do have to compile all your programs, which takes a long time, but it's all automated by the package manager, so if you follow the handbooks, you'll have basically 0 issues, unlike e.g. LFS where you need to actually compile shit by hand.

What does /g/ think of pre-intel era apple? Would apple have been better off if they stuck with PowerPC CPU's? Granted the internals of PowerPC macs were still from china but those machines had aesthetic that apple no longer does. Seems kinda weird knowing the first apple store opened outside DC after all these years later we know about vault 7

Is this the private key? What's the difference between fingerprint and private key?
I had created an SSH key and then fully restarted my computer. I tried to take this SSH "fingerprint" (pic related but it was a different one that was in use) and add it to my ssh-agent on my computer like so:
eval "$(ssh-agent -s)"
ssh-add -K ~/.ssh/[here's where key went]
It's obviously I was doing something tremendously wrong, but I can't figure out what. If I am trying to add a github SSH key to my ssh-agent, how do I do it?
