Linux is nothing, I repeat: NOTHING, without GNU.
>>59364165
Nobody gave a shit in the first place, sorry OP.
systemd is quickly replacing the gnu userland tools. What you call "GNU/Linux" will soon be "systemd/Linux".
GNU is one of the main things wrong with Linux. Their apps are horribly bloated. The license is actually not free at all. Overall they suck. OpenRC/musl/clang/plan9port/linux FTW
My current server (pic related) has been in service since 2005. Since I brought it online way back then there's been changes, going from Server 2k3, to WHS 2011, hdd upgrades, etc. but the core parts, cpu/ram/mobo have all remained the same.
The current drives will by next year have 4+ years of service life on them with them being on for 24/7 daily use (close to that anyway). So with all that and the fact the drives will be at capacity I'll prob just build a whole new server with the only returning parts being case, psu and optical drive. I'll keep WHS 2011 as the os cause for my needs it works perfectly. I've got a nice FX 8300 cpu and 8GB of ram just waiting for it. (Server/workstation use is only good thing the FX chips are good for, imo)

Why is an IP address belonging to Fastly CDN San Francisco sending continous requests to my 80 and 443 ports since yesterday evening?
Should I start a webserver on these ports with a bunch of exe trojans and dick pics and let them download that stuff 24/7? what would you do?

That's a DoS attack, retard.
How does one go with mounting all three debian dvds and install every package on them. I have the space, I just want to install everything and be done with it.
>>59363535
Start with CD 1 and go through the installer. Insert the rest of the CDs when it prompted.
>Protip you don't actually need to install all 3 dvds
You mean you want to install all the available packages onto your hard disk/filesystem? Sounds crazy, but you could do something likeapt-cache search "" | cut -d ' ' -f 1 | xargs apt-get install
It might make you switch DVDs a whole lot of times though. Maybe if you do the apt-cdrom add for each disc separately, and take each disc's entry out of /etc/apt/sources.list before doing the next one, then the apt-cache search will only list packages available on that disc.
>>59364419
OP will still have gigabytes of packages that will most likely never be used
Do any of you actively pursue IT certification? I am in the middle of an mcsa - just wondering what the general thought was on IT certification..

Alright /g/ I'm looking at a GT 730 with 1GB DDR3 - 128 Bits for just 20$. The guy has the drivers and all the paperwork.
But it's from Biostar, I have no idea how good they are at qualitiy assurance on graphics cards.
If you don't know then link me to a recommended hardware forum or news site.
No
Oh only $20?
Waste of $20, still.
>>59363221
GT 730 sucks. What were you planning on using it for?

Why do people still develop software and games for dead operating systems and consoles?

>>59363112
Because fun. Does it bother you?
Same reason people still use old wood tools. Necessity might be the mother of all invention, but if you can't get with her, you can always plow her sister, Limitation.

thinkpad x260 keyboard vs macbook or macbook pro 13 inch keyboard?

Thinkpad T60 keyboard
>>59362962
even the newer thinkpads have a better keyboard than those macbooks.
Is this a serious question? One is one of the best laptop keyboards currently made, the other is loud as fuck and has so little travel that it's closer to a touchscreen than to an actual keyboard.

I used to listen music in that player back in 2004-2006, though to be honest it was just because it came in a CD with my mp3. It was decent.
