Somebody know how I can free uprgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7?
>>59384248
It does not have to be legal
The internet.
Download the iso from like anywhere online and then use daz loader to activate.
>>59384284
But where can I find it?
Alright guys,
It's been months I'm periodically lurking for a viable e-reader with no fucking e-shop and which can handle epub and pdf at least.
I always feel like the market is full of shit made to suck a little more your wallet.
Do you know something that comes with a non bloated firmware or that can be flashed to look like a reliable device ?
>>59384145
currently there is no eReader that has 100% libre software. So yes, everything as of right now is a botnet. Buy a physical hard cover book, and donate it to others when you're done with it.
>>59384145
>e-ink
no
just get a kobo like a regular intelligent person
>>59384154
That's what I already do for novels and essays, but I wanted something to read those much more expensive tech manuals from something more handy than my laptop. I guess I'll have to wait, thanks anon.
How does one go about learning python? I know a bit of java from my uncle, but not much.
Do i look for a teacher maybe? Through books? Videos?
How did you guys learn your respective languages?
https://www.codecademy.com
This is how I learned to program.
>>59384056
Books, definitely books.
Avoid Learn Python the Hard Way. Don't ask why, just don't buy it, look at it, or support Zed A. Shaw in any way or form until further notice.
Automate the Boring Stuff with Python is a good book.
Don't use random YouTube tutorials, they won't teach you much of how the code actually works rather than what it will do. Knowing how versus what is the key factor. Also the same for sites like Codecademy.
Anyways, you said you picked up a bit of Java, but if this is your first lang, go with something strongly typed like Java so you can understand things like data types before you jump into a dynamically typed language.
>>59384111
>https://www.codecademy.com
it's shit
>>59384056
Use "Learn Python the hard way" or similar book.
Programming-motherfucker.com and the gentooman library are also good resources
Is there anyone with experience in computer graphics? Why is it not possible for a driver implemented multi gpu solution to become avaliable? You could easily just request frames 2x as fast and treat them as two separate back buffers so why isn't this the case? It seems like an easy solution. buffer0 gets requested from gpu0 and buffer1 from gpu1 and then alternate? It should give actual performance benefits correct?
>>59383941
Because if you pull buffer0 with gpus 0 and 1, the flux capacitor in any commercial machine will overheat almost instantaneously.

Social Media is vital to business success. Billions of people aka customers on there. I literally make money in my sleep because of it.

Is there any reason to still be using FreeBSD now that Btrfs has surpassed ZFS?
Btrfs has done what now?
Can I get a rundown on Btrfs? How has it surpassed ZFS?
>>59383674
bsd general?
is netbsd significantly lighter/faster than openbsd and freebsd?
The future? Or just a meme?
>>59383635
blur reduction does the same job
higher resolution is better investment
>>59383635
Great for csgo.
i have a 144hz display. i can't tell the difference past ~100fps.
240hz would be a waste of money for me, but there probably are people who would benefit from it.
motion blur reduction is more important at this point
How do you guys hold your smart phones? I have faggy fingers and my pinky gets sore holding it with one hand with my pinky as a resting platform for the bottom of the phone. But two hands is sometimes gay. What do
Wrap middle fingers around the other end of the phone
>screen to big
then either you have XBOXHUEG phone or you are a handlet.
>>59383627
Dude how can your thumb reach around the screen doing that? You must have area 51 hands
What are you working on, /g/?

How can I tell if some language is a scripting language?
>>59383531
It being dynamically typed already means it's both "scripting" and "shit".
What services should be disabled / settings be tweaked on Win10 to get the most performing and botnetless experience?
Just switched from Win7 to Win10 for the first time on my laptop (have no other choice because reasons).
Install Gentoo
>>59383378
open services and disable anything you don't think you will need
if you can't tell if it's important look it up
>>59383534
and when it refuses to boot because you disabled the printing service or cortana realize how shitty windows is and install gentoo
Worth it? It means going with the Broadwell-E processor and X99 chipset as those support it.
I don't care about rysen, a good chip is a good chip I dont need the "latest and greatest" I need really fucking fast.
>>59383340
Most probably not worth it. Almost no consumer workload is going to tax your ram that heavily. I don't even see the ram being hit that hard on our database nodes and we're serving hundreds of thousands of requests per second.
>>59383529
Thanks, thats the best answer I've got so far without hearing hur get rysen lol.
Time to re-work that newegg wishlist for the third time, at least I'll be saving a whole lot of cash not using the x99 chipset.
>>59383340
Install ryzen en get gentoo.
OK, so how the fuck does this keep happening?
In the Firefox settings I've got "block pop-ups" checked.
I've got adblock plus installed and running, with all whitelists disabled.
I've got Pop-up Blocker installed and running on the most strict setting (block all pop-ups).
Yet I still keep getting these kinds of pop-ups.

How the fuck do I stop this shit?!?!
dumb shit this isn't a popup
>>59383330
it's not? well it sure pops the fuck up while I'm in the middle of reading what's on the page.
so what is it and how do I block it?
>>59383330
this.

okay /g/entoomen, what's the best standalone number pad currently available?
>>59383152
>standalone number pad
god damn you fags are sad af
>>59383179
you're right but it's best not to bother arguing with them, they'll either grow up and realize their error or they'll never change their minds
>>59383152
WHY DON'T YOU BUY ONE WITH A KEYBOARD INCLUDED NEXT TO IT
Why should I learn emacs instead of using a modern text editor, provided I don't care about e-peen?
>>59383135
>tons of support for virtually any language
>has been around since forever
>can be used over ssh
>can be considered heavier than vim but doesn't have the bloat of any of the modern text editors
>isn't a web app in denial
>>59383169
>tons of support for virtually any language
So does anything else worth using
>has been around since forever
Doesn't bring any benefits for me
>can be used over ssh
This is a tangible plus
>can be considered heavier than vim but doesn't have the bloat of any of the modern text editors
I run a modern system, whatever I use runs perfectly fine
>isn't a web app in denial
who cares?
>>59383135
Because why not? It's simple enough to learn, incredibly extensible, and can do pretty much anything you could possibly want.
Though vi/vim is good to learn too, it's even simpler and it's good to know for quick file editing especially remotely, but emacs is the fucking bomb for serious text editing needs, and I say that as someone who thinks RMS is a gigantic faggot and GNU is a bunch of godless commies.
Is a OnePlus 3 64GB worth $400 CAD?
My Xperia Z3C is quite literally falling apart and is no longer supported. I want a new phone, but I don't want to spend a ton of money. There's a used OP3 (not OP3T) for sale in my area, $400 no tax.
I'm just wondering if there's a better option for $400 CAD, or if I should wait for new releases.
>>59383114
It's not worth it. I have had almost every android phone and they all aren't worth the money. The best thing to do is get an iPhone 7 or if your on a budget get an iPhone SE or 6s. If you want some help if be happy to help you find an iPhone That a right for you.
>>59383114
For Canadian context, a new OnePlus 3T 64GB is ~$700 CAD after tax and a Google Pixel 32GB is ~$1030 CAD after tax.
>>59383114
I mean, when it comes to specs per price, it's pretty damn good.
Just got my OP3T 128gb and I love it. Fast as fuck and really easily rootable.
