is 16 gb of ram worth it?
>>59474202
Yes, if you plan on using them.
16 is my "standard".
I'm idle with 6 gb, so basically. Yeah.
Imagine when I have my tabs opens and my VMs running, I'm using all that shit.
I'm thinking of upgrading to 32 and even 64 in the near future.
Idols were a mistake

I was told by /g/ long ago that shutting down your PC constantly is unhealthy for it. Is this true? /vr/ seems to think otherwise, but then how come businesses leave them on and how come PC's stay on in the case of web servers?
>>>/vr/3868272
Pic somewhat related.
>>59473880
>servers
Why the fuck do you think servers run 24/7?
Businesses usually leave them on so they can run virus scans and other adminware while there's nobody around to inconvenience.
The main thing to worry about is stress on the hard disk motors from the initial spinup - it's less stressful for them to keep spun up the whole time. No need to worry about that if you're on SSDs though.

>I was told by /g/ long ago that shutting down your PC constantly is unhealthy for it.
this was true like 20 years ago, nowadays it doesn't matter.
Meme.
literally who?
>ok team, our shitty company is hemorrhaging money in everything except our ad department as it has been for the last decade, and even that isn't doing so hot. We need some ideas.
>yo boss, what if we like, release a shitty Linux distro with nothing except a browser and symlinks to specific pages or plugins. Basically just one giant advertisement platform. Then give the hardware 1/10th the storage size of even shitty budget laptops to prevent people from using them with a real OS.
>I LOVE IT!
is protonmail botnet? is ALL "encrypted" email botnet? pretty much anything hosted in Burgerland is, right?
>>59473739
It's safe to assume US intelligence agencies will have backdoors in US-based services.
That said, ProtonMail is hosted in Switzerland.
>>59473739

Is the Intel Celeron N3060 decent for shitposting and watching hentai?
>>59473612
No, you need a laptop i5 or better, or a desktop i3.
I have a chromebook with an n3050. I think it's pretty dependent on the screen resolution, but the n3050 powers a 1366x768 screen just fine for shitposting on here and watching video.
>>59473612
im shitposting from one right now faggot.
this shit even plays some indie games aswell
I'm looking for a cheap vesa dual monitor arms that mount from the desk.
The cheapest one I could find was $100 in Canada
>>59473605
You get what you pay for when it comes to monitor arms. I had some 3M arms and they were pretty shit. I ended replacing them a Ergotron and there is a night and day difference.
