does it come with a warranty at least?

I've had one of these for about 3 years, but it's not a laptop bag, i'm sure you can find similar quality products from good companies though

Is freeNAS safe behind a router by default? I only want it avaialble to the local network and NOT accessible to the internet. No ports have been forwarded (at least not manually), but it IS directly connected to one of the ethernet ports on the back of the router along with my PC. Is this safe?

$800 gaming pc or pspro? (not trolling i legitimately want to know)
>>
>>59487884
At that price, definitely the PC. There are multiple reasons why.

Firstly, you can obviously use a PC for a lot more than you can do with a ps4.
Second, you can pirate almost any single player game you want for free, and emulate almost any console and get those games for free as well. Essentially, you really only need to pay for multiplayer shit.

Literally the only reason I could see anyone picking a ps4 over a pc at that budget is if they only want to play games in split screen (which many pc games have either officially or modded in).

So is the only way to get a strong signal with a new router? Faster connection? Or more in house signal boosters?

I'm hoping this isn't against board rules, if so please delete and my apologies, I just thought this might make a Networking/Questions thread

Change it to channel 14, senpaitachi.

one weird trick for a stronger signal is plugging in a cat5 cable, easy 1-10 gbps

FAQ
>What is TempleOS?

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT7yvaGN0ZU
--TempleOS (formerly J Operating System, SparrowOS and LoseThos) is a biblical themed lightweight operating system created over the span of a decade by programmer Terry A. Davis.

>How did TempleOS start?
Development for TempleOS began in 2003 after Davis suffered from a series of manic episodes that left him briefly hospitalized for mental health issues.
Davis is a former atheist who believes that he can "talk with God" and that God told him the operating system he built was God's official temple. According to Davis TempleOS is of 'Divine' intellect due to the inspired nature of the code. According to Davis, God said to create the operating system with 640x480, 16 colors display and a single audio voice. The operating system was coded in a programming language developed by Davis in C/C++ called "HolyC". The OS runs a file system called "Red Sea".

>What can TempleOS do?
TempleOS deliberately has no network support. It runs 8-bit ASCII with graphics in source code and has a 2D and 3D graphics library, which run at 640x480 VGA with 16 colors. The OS contains numerous embedded biblical references including a program called AfterEgypt which allows users to "communicate with God" through an oracle.

Not under surveillance. But I believe all smartphones with google, apple or MS software have OS backdoors and most intel agencies use this so collect data from relevant targets. If you fall under their profile of interest you`ll most probably be under surveillance of some level.

How shitty is an IT admin job?

>>

Sysadmin jobs can be pretty relaxed.
There's bursts of high-stress, though, whenever shit breaks.

"IT" is just customer service and you'll spend your days fixing printers and issues with Outlook for people.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation, except I'm looking for a laptop with an nvidia GPU to run cuda without having to ssh into a remote computer.

So far, the only thing that came close to something relevant are gaymer laptops. They're the only ones left on the market that feature a non undervoltage CPU (the kind of ones with a 2 cores i7) and a decent GPU.

Of course, there's also workstations like the thinkpads P series that feature NVIDIA quadro iirc but these things are damn overly expensive.

I'm OK with the shitty 5 years old thinkpad bought from ebay for shitposting but I'm not found of spending almost the double of the price on a thinkpad rather than a "no name" laptop for approximately the same components (the laptop I'm eyeballing features a Core i7-6700 (or a 6400 for cheaper) and nvidia GTX1070).

The main difference if I go with this one is that I'd have to accept the "l33t hardcore gaymer" aesthetic with ventilation that looks like a lamborghini.
But this is better than being fucked in the wallet for "I'm such a serious business man that does real business done with my business laptop".
>>
>>59487906
I was also looking at the asus rog which aside from being out of stock most places looks like a gamers wet dream. The p series are also fucking tanks. Not exactly the most portable and are way pricier than most other comparable laptops with similar specs.

Dell Inspiron 15 7567

/g/ claim people are being replaced by machines "is good", since machines are more effective than people and require less "maintenance" (a wage to human workers is probably more expensive than keeping the machine working).

What will happen when we replace more and more people with machines, eventually pretty much eradicating jobs from the job market. What will happen then?

What benefit does this HAL bring?
>>
From I understand it wasn't just that it was ugly code, it's that it fucked up all future updates to the kernel with AMDGPU.

So now it's both sides trying to point the finger when both sides are equally at fault.
>>
>>59487225
The entire linux philosophy is flawed so you'd have to be autistic to keep sticking to it after so many failed attempts.
