Can a group of a dozen /g/entoomen beat big companies like IBM and Microsoft at their own game?
Can focused autism ki be more innovative than billions of dollars? It seems like that in the end. Just look at companies like id Software and their humble beginnings.
/g/'s autism is far too intense to archive anything and programmers who aren't autistic crossdressers are an extinct breed.
>>59517027
The problem about /g/s autism is the fact that 90% of the people who post here think their opinion is superior, teamwork would be impossible, the company would already fail at trying to find a name for it.
The infighting would be horrifying.

Tell me Windows 10 and Microsoft are still bad now.
>In the grueling yet all too necessary fight against child pornography, one company has long led the charge. Microsoft has been a key advocate and warrior against the spread of such images across the web, selling its related software services to social media companies like Facebook and Twitter for years to prevent child porn from being uploaded to such platforms.
>But now, the firm is giving away this software, Microsoft’s PhotoDNA, to the public for free. In an effort to stem the flow of more than 720,000 abuse images that appear online every single day, Microsoft’s cloud version of the software can be used by small businesses and individuals across the board in a collective effort to end this disgusting (not to mention illegal) practice.
>In a blog post announcing the release, Microsoft noted, “The new PhotoDNA Cloud Service takes away … potential hurdles for smaller companies and other organizations that want to give users the freedom to upload content while ensuring the integrity of their platforms.” As Courtney Gregoire, a senior attorney at Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit said, “Finding these known child sex abuse images in that huge universe is like finding a needle in a haystack. We needed an easier, more scalable way to identify and detect these worst of the worst images … and that’s how the concept for PhotoDNA in the cloud was born.”

>>59516787
They already run PhotoDNA against everything you put into OneDrive.
>>59516787
Hopefully it applies to drawn images of children as well. Pedos who hide behind that excuse are still scum.

I got autobanned for posting a photo of tomboychan on /b/
auto perm banned the instant I clicked post even though her pics have been on this site for years
who is behind this? Microsoft?
Curious to see what 4chan uses as daily drivers. For me I've used the razer krackens (complete waste of money) for the last 3 years.
I love my MDR-XB700s
My daily driver is a Volvo 940 turbo running at 1,7 bar benched at 340PS
HD700 w/ Xonar Essence One Muses
Can /g/ solve simply problems like pic related in efficient manner of implementation?
Eratostenes until 2 million using an accumulator
>>59516834
This. Sieves are not complicated.
/thread
>>59516834
Can you implement that off the top of your head on a whiteboard?
I just finished mine, took me ~25 minutes:limit = 2000000 # The limit to check for primarity
intList = set(range(3, limit + 1, 2))
PRIMES_SUMMED = 2
while True:
n = 2
p = intList.pop()
PRIMES_SUMMED += p
if p**2 < limit:
while n*p <= limit:
intList.discard(n*p)
n += 1
else:
PRIMES_SUMMED += sum(intList) # It's assumed only primes remain
break
print(PRIMES_SUMMED)
>>59516874
I never said they were, but it's much harder than fizzbuzz, which just takes simple logic to implement. But so why does /g/ meme about fizzbuzz when you should really be learning algorithms?
>apt-get remove ttf-liberation
>removes your whole os
why is this allowed?
use Arch instead
apt-get a shit.
>>59516642
i'm seriously considering it, but i still want to understand why shit like this happens with apt-crap in fucking 2017
Is it still worth getting a DAC if I don't hear any background hiss when I have my headphones plugged in with no sound coming?
>>59516496
I'm considering getting a DAC because the volume is just to low on my PC. Otherwise I think on board audio came a long way
>>59516515
I think you're talking about getting an AMP.
>>59516515
you want an amp then

Overall it's a pretty good phone, especially considering that I got it for $250. It would be almost perfect if the battery was slightly larger, the display was AMOLED, and it had 4gb of ram instead of 3.

Serious question, what do people use these things for?
I can't find any real use for these ipad things.
I honestly wouldn't use one even if they paid me to have it. iOS is a joke.

Hey /g/. I humbly ask for your help. I'm restoring an older desktop's windows 7 right now and I want to be able to make it into a media server. I was wondering what the best way would be to be able to Remote Desktop to it would be. It'll always be on & console connected to a switch so I want to be able to Remote Desktop to it from anywhere and get into my switch. What would be the best way to do this? ScreenConnect?
>>59515881
Linux,
Install plex and use a VNC
>>59515881
Run Plex for media server and TeamViewer for remote control.
Windows RDP is fine too but you'll need to set up a VPN on a raspi or similar as a jump host which is too much work.
What do you place your butt into all day?
Not sure if this is /g/ related, but my ol' faithful is finally on it's last legs.
Recommend me something good, and not too expensive.

How would you rank these mobile OS's?
Android
iOS
Blackberry OS
Meabo
MeeGo
Meamo
Sailfish
Windows Phone OS
iOS > all
iOS: as far as usability goes, suitable for phones but not tablets. Tablets should have more functionality and be less locked.
Maemo: it was all good and fun but damn if it wasn't shitty for a phone. it really felt like the phone part was an afterthought.
Android: it can be very nice, but it can also be pretty bad. There are good "distributions" of it. Play store is pretty shit, I try to avoid using it.
Windows Phone OS: I only used the crap they made before win8. It was, in its way, pretty nice, smooth and all. But the tradeoffs were not worth it (no good applications available and so on)
Never used the rest.
BlackBerry 10 OS > Android (maybe not, only other one I've used is iOS) > the rest
I was logged in a temp account on some site and I and shutdown my comp to go decorate my house , cookies went I guess is there a way to restore that so I can auto log back in to the site, otherwise I have just lost money.
