>The public reaction to Delvaux’s proposal has been overwhelmingly negative, with the notable exception of Bill Gates, who endorsed it. But we should not dismiss the idea out of hand. In just the past year, we have seen the proliferation of devices such as Google Home and Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa), which replace some aspects of household help. Likewise, the Delphi and nuTonomy driverless taxi services in Singapore have started to replace taxi drivers. And Doordash, which uses Starship Technologies miniature self-driving vehicles, is replacing restaurant delivery people.

This is pretty old, but obviously they shouldn't be taxed; robots have no income. They can be taxed like property though, if you believe in property tax.

Companies and company owners should pay their fair share of the revenue though, and any company that create jobs and offer benefits to their employees should get an equal reduction in taxes.

To add on this, I really don't understand normies' irrational fear of automation. Robots and automation will kill off some types of jobs, obviously, but will potentially create new jobs as well as improving efficiency and life quality in general. The dystopian meme that we're all going to sit around and be unemployed and starve is not justified, it's not like the weaving machines made millions of people starve to death. Society progressed and other kinds of jobs and trades arose.

Avast was the best free antivirus (and probably still is) but it's much more intrusive now than a couple of years ago.
The best strategy now is just to use unlock origin and leave Windows defender on. MBAM is worth having just in case you do somehow get a virus.

Explain what this shit REALLY is.

Is it just higher contrast ratio?
Is it just higher maximum brightness value?

How is it made possible? New Panel technology?

I know OLED is superior in contrast ratio, brightness and deeper blacks by nature. so what's the deal with non-OLED ""HDR""?
>>
>>59527480
>>59527521

Hdr in tvs seems to be a food dynamic contrast ratio + 10 bit color.

Ideally when you take a photo of these two displays, you are unable to see the difference.

However a bunch of media or manufactures are putting in unturn offable contrast enhancing and saturation effects, to the point that a youtube video shows you a clear difference in displays on a shit tn panel monitor.

Good hdr is just 10bit with good contrast
shit hdr adds post effects to make it look like you got your money's worth because lets be honest and not kid ourselves, every aspect of a display is something you can get use to besides contrast, contrast is the only factor that you can see with your eyes the difference on any non shit monitor without a direct side by side, followed by refresh rate, but this is something you get use to even if the difference is clear.

Why do all laptop keyboards fucking suck? After using my mech on desktop for a year, I can't fucking stand any of this shit. Is there any laptop whose keyboard doesn't feel like pressing on inflated balls of a dying hyena?

you can't fit mechanical switches in a laptop without making it a foot thick

generally, business laptops have the best keyboards
>lenovo memepad
>dell precision/latitude
>hp elitebook
but avoid ultra thin models
>>
>>59527438
You could always get a tiny mechanical keeb such as a pok3r or HHKB and carry with you. They're expensive though.
>>
Ah, don't remind me I have to get one of those sets of retainers for my X220. I can't stand knowing that one key in my keyboard can pop out if I press on it a little bit hard, or if the laptop falls down from a short distance.

alright /g/uys

I'm a complete newfag when it comes to spice. Trying to use KiCAD with it's built in simulator (on its nightly build), however I'm struggling to get any meaningful results even with a simple resistor circuit.

>netlist (why does it label the nodes like this?):

.title KiCad schematic
RR1 VEE VCC 300
.end

>simulation output:

Circuit: KiCad schematic
Doing analysis at TEMP = 27.000000 and TNOM = 27.000000
Fatal error: DCtrCurv: source / resistor vvcc not in circuit
doAnalyses: no such device
run simulation(s) aborted

Any help/abuse appreciated

I get it I get it lol trust me I've had a look and get how to do it by making your own netlist and that, what I'm struggling with is simulating within kicad (I'm trying to simulate a voltage rectifier with Darlington transistors and zener diodes, this is just for the sake of simplicity).

I've read up though and I just don't see how I can insert a dc voltage source into my schematic, like the bloke does in this vid: https://youtu.be/A2_-hdRcf4U

No need to be condescending I'm trying my best to be pragmatic

When it comes to modern OS' what would you guys consider suitable for use in these kinds of things? Ive got an atom machine with 1gb of ddr2 im hooking up to a tv, and id like it to be reasonable for web browsing and non-demanding games on a 1080p display over vga

Xubuntu, (dare I say) arch, debian with a lightweight de (xfce, lxde, openbox, i3, etc), gentoo (if you're really crazy)

Gentoo on an atom would be retarded
Are you sure xfce and a web browser on 1gb of ram is sensible?
>>
I've got a 2 GB shitbook that is my only computer. I flip flop between xubuntu and arch with dwm.

Xubuntu is less stressful to use but a minimal arch install saves those precious few MBs for more tabs while browsing. It's a rough life. Make sure you configure the fuck out of your browser to use as little memory as possible.

Looks like Linux is getting more popular with developers. Meme magic is real /g/

Expect an influx of anti-linux shills and anti-linux memes.

https://stackoverflow.com/insights/survey/2016#technology-desktop-operating-system

2016:

>Windows: 52.2%
>Linux: 21.7%
>OS X: 26.2%

2017:

>Windows: 42% (-9.2%)
>Linux: 32.9% (+11.2%)
>OS X: 18.4% (-7.8%)

Pretty clear who the winner is.

Yeah, this is the first thing I noticed too. Do you think the direction Apple is taking the macbook pro is creating some of this effect?
