Is machine learning a meme, /g/?
ML as it's done by college undergrads and shitposters on /g/ is a meme, yes. But when adults are the ones doing it, then no, it is not a meme. It is the driving force behind all the latest software advances.
Face recognition as done by your shitty mobile phone or Facebook's auto-tagging thing is all ML. Captcha solvers as well.
machine learning offers literally no advantage over just using if-statements

Nice bait. Just look at how image processing skyrocketed in 2012, all thanks to neural computational networks. It's considered to be the modern revolution, similar to the industrial one, because it's going to automate a lot of jobs, including the code monkeys.
What would happen if I RAID-0 an SSD with an HDD?
>>59584379
instead of it being 100% faster it would be about 50% faster
>>59584379
You would get twice the performance of the HDD
(Speed of SSD + Speed of HDD)/2 you illiterate asshole.

Its not like i was fucking around during school work time. I had already finished and the teacher didnt give a shit if you played flash games once you were done.
Ok, /g/, you did quite a good job when you had to design the worst laptop.
Let's see if you can keep it real with this one.

Are you at college? Did you go to college? If so, what was your major and what computer did you use? Did you like it for the purpose you needed it for?

Used a fully loaded 15" rMBP and it was a solid performer, probably could have gone with a MacBook Air (much lighter) but I wanted a larger screen for graphs / excel etc.

not anymore. and lots of browsers are capped at that, need edge or whatever for the highest res.

After lots of thinking I believe I do have figured out a fully anonymous (or let us say 99.99% anonymous) setup in theory. I want to know your input on why this WILL NOT work.
Why won't you just get 2 different world renowned VPN services that claim they don't log clients by paying them with mailed cash or Monero (since Bitcoin can be traced even when using tumblers).
1. You setup VPN1 service on your main machine. Of course with additional program to prevent internet flow in case of disconnect and the stop DNS leaks feature enabled.
2. You setup a virtual machine with a secure OS on your main machine.
3. You setup the second VPN2 on this virtual machine. Use this virtual machine to browse anonymously.
Of course all the machines, OS and drives are encrypted with strong passwords as well as use secure browsers.
You can hide the virtual drives using steganography if you wish.
From what I see, even if VPN2 on virtual machine turns out to be a honeypot or keeps and gives out logs they will still only detect the IP from the first machine. For this not to work both VPNs have to be honeypots with log keeping policy.
Theoretically you can add a third VPN, but the network speed might really suffer from this.
Questions:
1) What are flaws in this setup?
2) How would you improve this setup?

All of the public VPN services are secretly monitored by NSA, and even if not, it is still vulnerable to timing attacks, just use TOR.
>>59584304
Tor is ALSO monitored by the NSA, CIA, and FBI... What good dose that do? It's still a fuccton of agencies collectively breathing down your neck (-1 your local PD...). Just deal with them watching and be a decent human like everybody else...
>>59584304
>All of the public VPN services are secretly monitored by NSA
The top ones are not located in USA.
Also, what do you mean by "monitored by NSA" exactly? What can they monitor if they don't keep logs?
>even if not, it is still vulnerable to timing attacks, just use TOR.
What are timing attacks?
Also, regarding TOR. Aren't the TOR nodes controlled by NSA?

What is the point of life? I spend 50-60 hours a week at work so I can get money to buy shit but nothing I buy makes me happy. Is this all there is? What is the point?
Buying shit WILL make you happy, just not useless shit.
you dont need a mega cpu. also you only need at max a $300 card. also mechanical rgb keyboards and 369 dollar mice are a meme and if you have them kill yourself.
i was happy as a clam playing old ass games on a x220 with a $15 mouse.
>>59583745
this.
And you only really need like $700 of computer or buy older shit from ebay to run most games efficiently.
Hey /g/. I have to teach a 61 year old relative how to use the computer. He at least has a few days experience of it apparently.
So I showed him how to open a folder on the desktop and a file inside that folder.
He outright told me he could not understand what I just did.
How fucked am I?
Okay, you win. I thought I had it bad when my father had me "teach" him. I told him to close a window because we didn't need it, and he asked me how. But you sir, you're a whole new kind of fucked.
>>59583718
why do you have to? if you don't, what happens then?
sounds like an impossible task if you ask me
>>59583718
people of his generation are used to being hit while learning so you need to take a stick and hit his hands everytime he doesn't understand.
