It's time we consider THE MOST important part when building your PC - the mousepad. What's the best mousepad /g/? Best manufacturer? What size? What material?
>there are people who spend more on their PC than their mousepad
>>59593689
My Ducky Secret came with a free Ducky Flipper mousepad. It gets a little dusty due to its size but it's pretty great other than that. Doesn't seem to be fraying as fast as the steelseriee qcks I used to buy

They're good machines. There are no inherent flaws with them.
If you want to argue price and ports, that's boils down to preference but they are objectively good computers.
>>59593681
There are none. Regardless of what hideous NEET permavirgin jealous poorfag anti-Apple shills say on this board, the MBP is objectively the best laptop ever made.
Is 2017 the year of the GNU/Linux desktop?
No, but it's the year of the Linux desktop.
It will never be the year of the linux desktop, for several reasons.
In order for this to actually happen, you need to grab the attention of the normalfags. Now this presents a real issue with the way the linux community (and software suite) exists currently.
Linux is all about choice. There are dozens of different distros, dozens of different music players, dozens of different browsers, etc. Normalfags, do not like choice. They want just one option and they want that option to work really well.
Secondly, computers almost always ship with either windows or macOS. Normalfags are completely unable to install a different operating system, so it is ludicrous to expect them to switch to linux.
Thirdly, the linux community itself has many flaws. The users are very elitists, and most of them are also anime loving pedophiles which is a huge turnoff for normalfags.
>>59593626
If not this year, then soon. Mainly because the normies will all be using phones and tablets and shit. Even a laptop will be seen as "a lot of computer" to them, so the only people left buying desktops will be the enthusiasts or tech people, who are more likely to run Linux.
What is the best database to learn how to use right now? For web programming and such...
Is there a point in learning NoSQL databases when they all seem to be total shit and in decline?
>>59593599
http://db.cs.cmu.edu/courses/ some free courses here, the 'advanced' db course has youtube lectures and is totally awesome explaining everything about a modern dbms
To answer your question read this pdf http://15721.courses.cs.cmu.edu/spring2016/papers/pavlo-newsql2015.pdf
You should never use a NoSQL database unless you plan to store an extremely huge amount of data over several servers.
Why are there no high value, high quality, high usage, open source apps?
Because open-source software doesn't need to be profitable because digital distrobution can be handled by a small team cost efficiently
>>59593596
>Open source apps
>high value
Because most normies don't even know what open source means. A market is only as profitable as it's target audience is wide.
This is why devs eat up open source shit. Because they can make money off an idea that normies can't even conceive.

How overrated is this brand?
>>59593415
Considering price for quality, they're not too bad until you get to the higher end cans.
They made probably the best all around, balanced headphone with the most pleasant sound signature for casual listening.
Then they made 5 different models of the same headphone and priced them hundreds of dollars apart.
Now idiot fanboys swear by $300 headphones that sound identical to $100 ones.

>confirmation bias of preconceived notion

Because they're pulling an "Ubisoft"; they downgrade quality because they're porting from console.
There are exciting things going on in the finance/statistics/economics world and I could be getting an exciting as fuck degree but instead I'm stuck in Alabama studying theoretical math writing proofs and shit.
I know, everyone says the MS Math will help you immensely in your career but I'm somehow skeptical.
God, two more semesters.
The MS is good if you're studying applied math. You're studying theoretical so I guess you should get used to saying "would you like to make it a large combo"

Why does PCSX2 have such a shit performance compared to any other system emulator? Especially considering audio. It always has this glitchy feel to it regardless of settings
.
Even the relatively new RPCS3 has considerably better performance compared to computational power required.
>>59592904
Bullshit. PCSX2 isn't particularly demanding aside from a few games. It's audio emulation is nearly flawless. Post your CPU retard.
