What do you think about the hyperloop so far?

Do you think it'll fail or will it deliver on all its promises?

>What do you think about the hyperloop so far?
absolutely fucking useless idea. nobody wants to take public transportation. Nobody can afford to travel for leisure, and businesses are turning to telepresence for meetings, remote work, etc. This is a boondoggle at best and a total waste of money and a scam at worst.

>Do you think it'll fail or will it deliver on all its promises?
No. It'll be mired in problems, run over budget, people will be maimed and killed working on the project, never mind what happens when an earthquake happens while one of these trains is doing 200MPH. It's an expensive death trap.

We should be using hyperloop money to build desalination plants.

Go to a Microsoft Store, they'll sell you a Galaxy S8 with all their shitty apps preloaded onto it and subscribe you to a network

They're pretty blatantly abandoning the Windows Phone platform at this point.
>>
>>59658329
But, why would anybody buy it from Microsoft when you can buy it from pretty much anybody else without additional Microsoft garbage apps on top of Google and Samsung garbage apps?
>>
>>59658343

They're not "Garbage Apps", they're "Added Value".

I mean, they ARE garbage apps, but that's not how it's viewed at a corporate level, and that's where decisions are made, and that's why this is happening. It won't be 'wildly successful', but it might help increase the install base of people using Microsoft Apps and at least Microsoft will know that they're installing these things on phones with fairly decent hardware, which means reviews are less likely to mention things like slowness, which may increase their store ratings, which makes them look better against their competition.

If this program nets their apps a +0.2 rating in the Play Store, the program will be a success.

Y'all go on and on about your free and open software, but you can't "escape the botnet" or whatever unless you know what your hardware is doing.

Let's talk about open source hardware and why it's the best technology movement there is.

Before you ask, OpenPOWER is a foundation that's basically the hardware equivalent of the FSF

openpower makes the specifications available to anybody who wants to see what they're doing

for example I can easily find documents showing the exact specifications of all I/O that's involved with the architecture

Am I the only one who find it peculiar that smartphone makers are copying everything apple does except for the only thing that actuallly matters: single core performance.

Why do these morons keep adding cores when smartphone usage is almost entirely designed around single core efficiency?

"it's too hard to do" is a total cop out. apple makes CPU's that are literally TWICE AS FAST as a brand new flagship $750 phone. There's no valid reason for NOBODY to be trying to be at least competitive. At this point things are getting comical.

I'm not suggesting you buy an iShit device, either. I will only buy devices I can root as a security precaution. Anyone who knows anything about security knows a closed ecosystem is pants on head retarded.

I just want to point out the absurdity of the performance descrepancy between devices is all. I'm sorry but the "my shitdroid is good enough" argument doesn't cut mustard. Android is laggy ass fuck and it's a joke at this point.

>I'm sorry but the "my shitdroid is good enough" argument doesn't cut mustard
Why not?

My lagdroid is good enough. It's not like I need top performance on my phone. I need it to send messages, make calls, use internet and that's about it.
>>
Eh, don't care. My phone plays 1080p 10-bit videos and has a bigger screen by like 1 inch than any iPhone ever. And its oled. I'm not a retarded faggot who plays games on their phone so I don't really care about muh core performance.

>Why do these morons keep adding cores when smartphone usage is almost entirely designed around single core efficiency?
Marketing. Telling wannabe geeks that their phone has more cores makes them wet their pants.
