Not in /w/ because it will be totally offtopic there.
Why people use wallpapers? What purpose they serve?
I, personally, can't stand them, mostly because they are, well, it's hard to put into words. Something like non-minimalist, but more so. Minimalist wallpapers are still wrong, in a way that they still carry information.
I tried to use a wallpaper more than once, but all those attemps ended with me becoming irritated and changing it back to static color.
Desktop shortcuts are wrong too. It's just terrifying to see shortcut-filled desktop, but even a single shortcut bothers me. It's like having a job not done. Panels and shortcuts on them are okay, through.
Attached image: my wallpaper. Small white ribbons at the top and bottom are hidden panels.

I like having images of space as backgrounds, they're pretty even color-wise and mostly black.
I still hate desktop icons, though.
>>59670702
Yes, color-wise unevenness is a good way to describe what I don't like in wallpapers.
>>59670688
My wallpalers are space-related because I am a basic bitch. They don't annoy me while working, studying, shitposting or playing vidya. Ussually i'm running fulscreen stuff so I don't see them 80% of the time.

Dear Hiro
Have you considered rewriting 4chan in Rust? It would make 4chan more secure and fast and all the things. Also muh C compatibility.
Sincerely, anon

Also calculate the costs of a PHP server (as low cost as possible) vs. a Rust server (exotic thingy with maybe a dozen hosters).

How much does a CS BSc makes on average in your country?
Here it's $7K/mo for a university graduate.

About three fitty
I lost 300gb of data yesterday and I need to find the cause. I downloaded crystal tools which says my HDD is in a good state.
The data I lost was all from 2017, not a single file still on the drive is from 2017.
I ran a data recovery program, and some of the files recovered show a "recycle bin", which has some of my lost folders in it. Meaning it was put in the recycle bin first.
Most of the data lost were movies, isos, roms, some phone recordings, a bunch of wallpapers. my resume, my gamedev project, all my webms.
Also 2 people have called my phone and got a "wrong number", one of them being from out of the country. I've literally not had this happen in years. One of my neighbours who I share a network with sometimes talked about how he was being hacked constantly, and had to get a new phone number every once in a while.
I need to step up my security and want to find out who's doing this. Any advice?
What do you mean by "lost"? Did you format your disk by accident or you turned on your PC once and it didn't boot?

Read your auth logs. If they got wiped too, change your setup to also log to a remote host.
Probably nothing weird actually happened, so just restore your data from backups.
your files was in the middle of gettng encrypted by a virus. ain't getting them back since it was in progress.

- a mounted headphone amp
- small display running htop at all times
- a button labeled "turbo" with a custom script attached to it which you can push for fun or profit, maybe something that controls a drone to bring you coffee
- speakers
3d printers are the biggest meme of our age. what's your excuse for not owning a CNC mill?
Because you can only get shitty CNCs that can't properly cut anything tougher than cheese for the money that buys you a decent 3d printer.

This, also show me a mill sculpting a cute anime figure.

I got a Nvidia gforce gt 430 graphics card and i am considering upgrading it by buying a used 1 on Ebay.
However i am unsure of which card i should look for since some cards might not fit in my PC.
so my qustion is: What should i look for, to see if it fits?
i realize that this post almost dosnt fit in /G/ and i should take my poor ass to /history/ and ask the question there. But please help me out anyway.
bost case and mobo model negro
anyway just get a 1050
Why upgrade? The GT 430 should do a good job.
>>59669857
dont know how to get the case number. I assumed that someone could deduct the specs based of the old card.
But thanks senpai, I will look up the 1050 and hope its in my price range.
Thanks again.
Sup /g/,
I've hooked up my old 360 to my pc monitor with a VGA cable. Is there any way I can record gameplay without having to buy these expensive vga signal grabbers?
Get a video camera and record the screen.
>>59669627
Composite recording bricks are cheap.
>>59669642
not good enough desu
>>59669652
that would work, but I don't have any TV that still supports component.
So either I really have to get one expensive vga signal grabber or I just let it go. I guess I'll just let it be.
Thanks anyway.
