Why exactly does high FPS cause coil whine?
Coils are lazy fucks and prefer to take it easy at 30 fps.
>>59721951
Lol

It's an inductor. It works by creating a magnetic field that then affects the current flowing through it. The field changes with instantaneous power consumption, which fluctuates constantly during use. It's stronger with heavy use because more current = more magnet.
A coil with current flowing through it in a magnetic field will tend to vibrate, producing sound, similar to how a speaker works. If the coil has any give to it, you'll get coil whine. If it's either made really well or is potted well, you'll get less or no whine.
i'm into pc en It and shit,,,but also : i don;t know much ,,,,how can i be a real It nerd and what sites?

"Based on years of conversations, I am convinced that part of the cause of the problem is the tendency to call the system Linux rather than GNU, and describe it as open source rather than free software."

Personally I just disable real-time protection.
Group policies might work, or they might not, depending on your license. Even with a pro license you can't turn off the mal- and spyware.
How does /g/ manage their images? I'm looking for a Windows image tagging software to sort through the jumbled mess that is my image folder. Something that's quick to tag existing images while being straightforward to filter through existing ones.
Any ideas?
Google hydrus network. Its generally for weeks to tag shit they DL from boorus, but it work fine for me for local organization.

I guess I'm never going to update Firefox again.
I wonder who could be behind this?
>>59720710
Just checked, still works for me. On YouTube, at least.
On 52.0.2
Did the downgrading work for you?
Have the same problem with GNU/Iceweasel 45.7.0, even without any updates.
It also only affects videos being played directly on youtube, embedded youtube videos and videos from other sites work.
Sure the problem is not on youtube's side?
Hey /g/,
I'm looking at at an entry level job application, and they have some ebin riddle to test competency or something.
If I get 3 answers correct I'm guaranteed an interview.
Can anyone help me out?

I'm guessing they want me to link the domain record to their company's dns?
If you can't answer the three questions, you probably can't do the interview.

Wrong board. This is the "fanboy consumers arguing about products" board. We don't actually have a board for tech.

Are PC gamers commonly dumb with technology?
I remember seeing a post on a forum asking about an upgrade from a gtx 480 to a 750 ti and a bunch of replies saying that it would be a large difference in increased performance.
It's at least 200 bigger
>>59720531
Well, it's at least 270% in increased performance.
>>59720531
Yeah. The PC itself is just an appliance for most gamers especially now that you can get one up and running and play most games without having to have intimate knowledge of how the computer itself works. It's kind of like how most people driving cars don't actually know anything about them.
Am in insane, /g/?
I've used /g/Leenux for a while for my study laptop and currently use Winblows 7 for my "fun" stuff.
I've failed an important exam recently, and in my huge intention of moving to being a more productive person, I'm interested in moving to Leenux for the sake of getting distractions away.
This means, however:
-time for moving to Krita from Photoshop
-time to move Insurgency (the only game I actually play) on it
-time to learn how the hell printers work
-time for NVidya drivers.
So. Am I the only one around here joining definitely the Leenux camp?
>>59719894
If you want to be productive, don't install a throttling heap of shit with no productivity software. Any "productivity software" that lincucks has is literal trash compared to the incredible feats by Adobe, etc.
Install Windows 7 on your desktop as well. Just don't submit to the 10 botnet.
No, it's just another OS. However that said:
-You may not be able to completely replace photoshop but there's WINE.
-Do your research before you buy a printer to ensure you can get a good driver. I've had good luck with Samsung, and their proprietary drivers aren't bad.
-Same with Nvidia drivers, haven't had a problem.
Not many use it every day, I do, and it works great. Games, if you play them, are a drawback but there's always shit like WINE or emulators as well.
>>59719894
You'll be fine, if you install a real distro. Don't install one of those shitty "base off of another distro" distros. Install Debian, Fedora, Arch (or gentoo if you're competent enough, or slackware if you're an oldfag).
Everything else is just based off of one of the above, and usually has more bugs and less support.
>Krita
I'm a digital artist, use it daily, even used to use it on Windows. It's come a long way. Very nice.
Are you "that guy" who signs all his emails with his public key and tries to get everyone else to make and share their own?
>>59719877
I'm pretty sure we cucked most of those into an hero by now
>>59719877
they're called "terrorists"
hmmm.. no.. but once I posted PGP encrypted stuff in groups, because that was all I could think of doing with it.
Then again, I might actually start using it seriously one of these days now that companies are sticking their nose more and more in our business.
