How are you enjoying the Creators Update /g/?
>>59769118
No. Something is fucked up on my desktop and I cannot even install the anniversary update.
>>59769118
what update?? o.O
I just went back to windows 7, thanks for asking.
Did any of you actually install gentoo or is it just a meme?
yes. i installed it after using arch for 7 years and i'm not going back.
it's a meme
>>59769108
Yes, but I was running it before it was a huge meme here.
Arch is the new meme now anyway.
Will apple switch to amd?
asking for a friend
Yes and No
depends on how hard intel begs them not to
>>59768963
I'm pretty sure I remember reading about Apple not even having a dedicated Mac development team anymore (got rolled into their iOS crap).
Apple has trouble enough as it is just providing incremental speed bumps to their Macs. Switching or even providing Macs with AMD chips is step 15 and they're not even off of step 1.

Would you hav bionic teeth implants if it was a painless procedure? Like metal teeth that have tools in them, like a bottle opening teeth or a metal saw tooth?
>>59768714
What is that in the picture?
>>59768714
why would I need teeth in a future where I eat goo and communicate telepathically?
>>59768714
Yes. I hate my teeth and with how much whitening, veneers and crowns are used these days I wouldn't feel bad about affordable and painless implants of any sort. I would wait for my teeth to go, but I can't wait for the dental industry to revitalize itself.
I'm on my way for a cleaning now. My enamel is shit and I think I have some acid reflux so despite being 26 my teeth aren't great. I'm sick of getting shamed by the dentist despite having decent oral hygiene habits.
Fuck real teeth on our modern diets, and just in general.
Samsung has announced ultrawide 1800R 49" monitors. I am cautiously excited. They will have IPS panels, but I couldnt find anything about the refresh rate. If they offer 120Hz+ I will likely buy one.
Unless of course, its just a meme
>>59768642
>They will have IPS panels, but I couldnt find anything about the refresh rate. If they offer 120Hz+ I will likely buy one.
They actually probably aren't IPS panels considering the static contrast ratio they're quoting is 5000:1 which is a bit more than 3-4x what even the best IPS panels currently offer.
They're almost 100% VA panels, not IPS panels.
Also, both the 49" 3840x1080 and the 44" 3840x1200 will be available in 60hz or 144hz options.
Most likely with Gsync and Freesync options.

When will Microsoft officially pull the plug on Windows Phone? It's hard to believe Microsoft even gives a shit about it anymore.
>>59768340
>says increasingly nervous man for the 5th time
>>59768312
Their plan is to not distinguish between phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc. A phone will just be a tablet with a cell modem and a dialer app.
>>59768340
If they had come out with an X86 Windows Phone that ran full Win 10 in Continuum in 2015 I might've actually bought that.
Where can I download the AOSP ROM?
Do you have to compile it yourself? Why?
What's the downside of using Barbone's android? Why might this be a bad idea?
Will I get updates?
I download a ROM and after a while the developer always ruins it...
>Do you have to compile it yourself? Why?
Likely. Your device may have different hardware. A ROM must be compiled for your specific device. This is what phone manufacturers do.
>Will I get updates?
If you mean system updates, no. System updates are released through update repositories provided by phone manufacturers. Example: if you're running a stock samsung android, you're downloading system updates specifically released for that phone from samsung. Unless you make your own repository, or android points to a pre-made repo for your device, you won't get system updates. Application updates are provided by your package manager, like play store.
>>59768304
> What's the downside of using Barbone's android? Why might this be a bad idea?
No drivers.

Thanks, you cleared it up a lot for me.
Has anybody else noticed that YouTube's audio quality is now worse than it used to be?
I used to be able to listen to music on YouTube quite happily, knowing I wasn't getting the most amazing quality out of it, but now I physically cannot listen to any music on there - cymbals and distorted guitars in particular just sound awful.
Has it always been this way and I've just now realised it or did they degrade their quality?
I think it's always been that way.
The music is degrading from rotational velocidensity from being stored lossily
>>59768260
I've seen a couple Reddit posts claiming they dropped from 256 to 128, which I totally buy. I've always been bothered by low-quality mp3s, its not as if I'm deaf to the difference, so I don't believe I've been listening to music this shite sounding all this time.
It really is BAD. I went on Vevo out of curiosity and it sounds just as bad.
So how many guys in your it department have neckberads ?
50% fat neckbeards
50% poo in loos
1% women
Only 1. Pretty cool dude though. Definitely wouldn't go to a bar with him on the weekend or anything but he's a nice guy and actually knows wtf he's doing unlike so many others in my dept

Overclocked my HD 7770 to:
- 1195 Core
- 1400 Mem
- +50 Power limit
(Its maximum stability i can get)
Everything runs cool (65 C at full load) and stable, can I do anything more?
>>59768026
ur an idiot
>>59768026
can gaurantee you that memory is unstable
>>59768026
Lower mem frequency, up the voltage a little, and try to up the core a little.
If you can't unlock the voltage, mod the BIOS and flash it.
Engineer confirms Zen2/3+ prime metrics are perf/watt, as if the already insane perf/watt of Zen wasn't good enough.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0QrGZSary0
Interesting stuff starts at 1hr and 6 minutes in, rest is just marketing fluff.
Krzanich literally on suicide watch.
Here's an example of the perf/watt, the 6900k scores 1600 while drawing something around 130 watts.
Dam, you can already get the R7s to consume around 65 watts under load if you can undervolt them at stock base frequencies.

Hey /g/, I'm working on an older pda and wondering if I could get an iPAQ h2210 to run a ide for python3. And if so, how would I be able to do so.
Pic related, it's the iPAQ h2210. Thanks.
Also, how easy would it be to modify the charger to work with modern day chargers (USB).
>Fun fact, I suck at wiring
>>59767942
It's pretty easy you just have to manually port Python 3 to the iPAQ runtime environment. 99% of it will be automatic with existing code / tools. The only problem is that you have to learn enough to do the other 1%. Not really worth the time investment IMO.
is there a PDA emulator for android? I searched it for ages and came up with nothing.
