Instead of spending billions of dollars on making transistors smaller, why cant they just make the chip larger? I wouldnt mind having a 2mx2m case.
Why worry about Moores law at all?
the speed of light is too slow
>>59797351
I dont understand
>>59797329
Then yields would be lower and the prices would increase. You can't just make a huge chip and expect to not have a shit ton of defective units.
Would /g/ attend at Stallman's funeral?

I have a decent idea of how network and network protocols work
Explain to me in the clearest manner possible how this thing works
So far what I'm getting is it is some decentralised public database of records but this doesn't answer much
Basically every instance of a bitcoin wallet has a complete record of all transactions ever. When a new transaction is done, the changes are quickly copied to everyone else's wallet ledger over the internet. New bitcoins are handed out in a raffle meant to mimic a real economy. The more computer power you donate to the bitcoin system (by mining), the more tickets you have for the raffle.
>>59797078
How is it meant to scale? You clearly won't be able to story whole history of all transaction on every client's computer.
>>59797117
That's exactly what they do. This has been a growing issue. The official name for it is the blockchain. The current blockchain, according to Google, is about 15gb, growing slowly. To have any computer or server on the network that has a higher priority than any other would be against the entire philosophy of bitcoin. I'm not sure if they have or are trying to come up with better ways to compress or format it.
Hello i'm a Brazilian poorfag and i'm planning to buy this pc: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Gaming-PC-Desktop-Computer-AMD-A4-6300-3-9-GHz-500GB-8GB-RAM-WIN-10-WIFI-/262926824895?#shpCntId
so i want to know, if it is worth to buy it and put a dedicated graphics card in it and if it is which one should i nuy to play games like Dark Souls 3 on a decent graphic quality.
>>59796547
>Dark Souls 3
Kek, nope.
>>59796547
I've got an A10-5800k OC'd to 4.9 GHz and a GTX 960 and I had issues with The Witcher 3 (CPU isn't good enough). So I'm going to guess that this thing you've posted will not play Dark Souls 3. It would probably be plenty if you do basic image editing or something like that.
>>59796547
no poorfag the 6300 is a garbage cpu (amd fanboi) get a 5+ gen i3 locked/unlocked pc you will get better performance, the 6300 is the mother of all bottlenecks
Drumpf signed law for ISPs to sell my private data to government.
I'm in the shop for a good VPN service. What is a /g/ approved, CIA/FBI proof vpn servce /pol/?
> CIA/FBI proof
No such thing. but you can reduce if not thwart them, by using mullvad, private internet access, etc..
>>59796494
Some states are working to outlaw this unless customers consent to it first. Good to see sanity is still a thing somewhere.
genuinely asking, I've been using this thing for years and I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something newer.

What does Mozilla have against internet comments?
>>59796411
because the majority of comments have no merit at all.
>>59796411
because comments hurt the feels. They are toxic nazi bigoted piece of crap written by hitler supporters who also voted for trump. Don't burst my illusion of multicultural paradise bro!
They're SJWs. They love saying stupid shit but can never handle the responses to it.

You don't become intelligent by using the os intelligent people use.
How do I remove all google apps, including play store and google account app, without making my phone glitchy?
Hardmode: no custom rom involved.
>>59795971
1. root your phone
2. install systemcleanup (that's the name of the app)
3. use it to remove trash apps from your phone
>>59795971
>>Hardmode: no custom rom involved.
well that is the simplest and most straightforward way to remove Google and other botnets, and be sure you've gotten all of it.
>>59795971
I've just installed LineageOS and there's no google shit in it. Having problems running apps now tho. If you need the apps then don't do it.
Hi there, Im posting about an exciting story, someone stolen a encrypted winrar archive called nudes.rar to someone in his classroom and need people to crack the pass or unencrypt the file.
He thinks it could be nudes pics of the guy with his (ex)girlfriend. By knowing the source, there is 10% of chance that is fake, 15% of nudes of his gf, 65% of chance that is snapchat nudes.
The file is called "nudes.rar" and contain 40 picture files all protected by a password. Pictures has a name pattern : IMG_5***.PNG, from IMG_5882 to IMG_5932 but obviously 8 files are missing, only 1 file has the extension .JPG, maybe he edited this one (so maybe there's any face of these pictures). All these things let us think this is not a fake or troll.
We already tried to brute force the pw with these options:
a-z0-9 8 caracters; ~12 hours
a-z 10 caracters; ~6 hours
a-zA-Z0-9+special caracters; 3 hours
any of us found the damn password!
We're also trying decrypt the file using free and premium tools/scripts :
We tried John The Ripper, Hashcat and https://www.password-online.com/ (After some tests, we think this site is legit but it didn't uncrypted the file).
We know have the hash of the file, its format : MD5(Chap), reference 4800 on Hashcat.net, and its composition : hash:salt:id
Please help us, if you or someone you know, can help us, we're organizing the OP on a discord: https://discord.gg/epfbF35
Here is the link to the file : [later, just want be sure people gonna help us]
Thanks!

Was this Microsoft's GOAT UI?
It is so beautiful.
Agreed. It's simple, elegant, clean, functional.
Borders are similar to Windows 8.1. No coincidence I like 8.1 design better than 7/10.
Anyways, what I like is the icons and how tidy everything is. There's not much wasted space, things are properly placed. XP and 2K icons were always my favorite.
My only issue is that it would probably not look great today with big resolutions.

Yeap.Windows 2000 was the greatest advance of MS.
bought this mp3 player few years ago for few bucks from china, and since it's no-name brand there's no firmware updates. i've been searching on google how to extract firmware, so i could try and make some changes to it, mostly to see if i can do it.
i tried s1fwx, but it didn't find my device (i know it's made for s1 mp3 players, but i tried anyway)
does the player have to be in ADFU mode in order to access firmware files on it?
marking on chip are STA801 MQKW344.2
any advice?
i also tried to put the device in recovery mode by short circuiting the 2 pins, result was the language was set to chinese when i powered it up
anyone?

open the unit and see if there are any jtag headers or a debug bridge. I know you can dump firmware via the jtag and development/debug bridge if it has one exposed
