Could one live with *BSD on a daily basis?
Install some minimalistic WM/DE, implying don't want to spend the rest of my life with maintaining this setup.
>>59825815
Why are all the BSD mascots so cringey?
At least tux is cute
>>59825830
Read the BSD license. It could be the definition of idealist anarchism.
Most people I've spoken to who use a BSD have it as their host OS, but then run a VM of Linux or Windows on top of it. I don't think the OS itself is meant for desktop/workstation usage at all.
Fell for the loonix meme, installed arch.
Well that was shit, will never use linux. Windows is better.
>>59825724
I think I found your issue. You only installed the Linux half of GNU+Linux.
>OP
>>59825724
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
How do I convert pic related to Latex? Is there any good OCR that takes scanned JPG/PDF of formulas and outputs Latex code?

By hand. Takes ~5min. No.
Also, this isn't tech support. Go to >>>/wsr/ for this kind of thing.

No thanks
>Also, this isn't tech support.
Nor is my question.

Hi /g/uys.
I fell for the gentoo meme, have been compiling for the past 12 hours. Now it finished, but most of the shit still doesn't work.

Don't fall for memes.
Can we get a surveillance rant thread going on how the Govt & their Corp Fascists want to know everything about everyone...

>>59825481
Yes. Assassinate Erdogan and you'll get the old interface back.
Nvm figured it out.
Don't ever post on my /g/ again, roach.
Is macOS flawless?
10.6 was flawless. It's all been downhill from there.
I really like macOS. It looks nice and it works well with little bullshit. However, I can't say that I'm a fan of the current hardware lineup.
I'm considering switching to the 2017 X1 Carbon as my next computer. I'll just miss miss my macbook's trackpad
>>59825436
Not an argument
>Arch is shit, it breaks constantly, just look at these meme comics!
>complete Linux noob, have been using Arch for the last 6 months and updating every 2 days
>it hasn't broken yet
>in fact after I got it set up the way I wanted it to it was the least annoying and buggy version of Linux I've ever used
Did anyone else not fall for the "Arch is bad" meme propagated by RedHat shills?
>>59825414
I use Manjaro :)
install gentoo
I just use Windows and skip all the linux bullshit :^)
>Is this the most frustrating hack yet? Bizarre attack forces people to get a high score in an anime GAME to decrypt their files

I remember one from late 80s early 90s where you played a little game every time you booted up your computer.
Touhou master race.

What a fucking faggot
>keep shitting on windows 10 for spyware
>use windows 7 since years

>installation process is tedious and terrible compared to win 7

>mfw it actually feels much better than win 7 right now
>mfw id like to hate on it but just cant because its superior except for some nuisances you have to spend time getting rid of
for some reason few issues are gone - for instance i used to get terrible stripes on my secondary analog screen when gpu was under stress, thought it was cable or vga -> dvi connector, it works perfectly now.

> daily "stand-up / huddle / Agile" meetings
Anyone else deal with this shit? Have to stop my work so a "team lead" (female) can feel important and micromanage everyone, Agile can die in a hole
>>59825309
You need to get with the ``team lead'' and find a way to make the meetings more productive. You eithe rwant the company to succeed or you just want a job to buy your stupid shit. If the later, no 1 cares what you like or dislike about a job you don't care about.
>>59825340
You make a good point anon. I really don't care about my giant insurance company so long as they pay me.
>>59825309

if she's doing that then it's not Agile.

Why are Schenker laptops not known?
Good build quality, decent screens, easy to repair (just unscrew the back and swap out the SSD, RAM whatever you want) and best of all: They are amazingly cheap compared to equally spec'd Dells/Thinkpads.
>>59825178
Isn't that clevo? Specs aren't everything, build quality , size and weight matter.
Plus there's no point in having a dedicated GPU on a laptop.
>>59825178
>Cheap
>1.000€+ gayming laptops
>>59825213
No, it's not.
Build quality is very good, size is as good as most thinkpads (not bezelless like xps13).
>>59825220
Looking at the wrong model faggot. Check out the Slim14. It has no dedicated gpu and starts at 800€.

Regarding WSL, I like it. But honestly, the more I use powershell, the more I feel Bash is hacky mess still dragging archaic language conventions from the 70's.
