Do you think one day someone will make new CRTs specifically aimed at keeping retro video games alive or will we forever have to do upkeep and repair on PVM's and old trinitrons and TVs like that?
>>59909057
Unless someone actually goes out of their way to buy every CRT on the planet and smash it, they're not going anywhere.
/vr/ considers it sometimes.
There's still one or two companies making high quality CRT monitors for professional use, but they only sell by the crate and shipping a container full of crates of CRTs across the ocean is a little bit out of budget for most retrogrouches.
What are you working on, /g/?

>2133MHz
3000MHz atleast for anything involving AM4
>1600X
1600 is better value and can be overclocked to be equal with the 1600X, you also won't need to buy the mounting bracket then.
get a B350 board. 1600 if you overclock, the 1600x doesn't even have a cooler included afaik. you need fast ram, preferably 3000/3200Mhz to unlock the full potential of Ryzen due to the CCX connection. Note that not all boards support fast ram yet.
This thread is about the appreciation of horological technology.

Why do they do this? Why can't there be a GPU that is well supported across multiple OS?
You use two or one, you never use all three, unless the third is BSD
why would u use anything other than macOS?

Fuking damn it.
Do you have to ruin every thread?
Good for you that the mods are sleeping as always.
Fucking hate this board.
We can just hope that nextnextchan will deliver.

"The results of the update are quite clear. While small, every single game gained performance, some more than others. On average the gains were 2.45%, with the top gainers being Ghost Recon Wildlands at 6.07%, Rise of the Tomb Raider at 4.33%, and Hitman 2016 at 3.73%."

Shaving whatever little gaming advantage the delidlake had.
Did they test anything multithreaded like Handbrake? It should benefit from this.
In case if anyone wondering. Ryzen 5 works flawlessly with outdated bios, but you need to update to version which officially supports it if you want to overclock/set ram speed +2133Mhz.
On side note, shuttering and odd frame drops while looking at certain parts of the map disappeared while playing War Thunder. Previously had 2500 non-k.

There is no "best." All that word does is make people argue online which is free marketing for these manufacturers.

I am fairly new on this board, since I have only browsed normie sites for tech advice. I have a serious question to pose:
Are torrents actually dangerous?
I have read many articles saying yes, but they usually come from the MSM. I am not asking you guys to do anything. I simply want some serious advice and proof to back it up.
>>59908404
Yes they are EXTREMELY dangerous. Do not use them under any circumstances. Your PC will get loaded with malware and viruses if you use them.
>>59908404
If you live in Germany consider using a seedbox to download your torrents through FTP. You will be very easily caught torrenting shit in here and the fines are hefty too. I don't know about other countries.
>>59908503
How dangerous? Will they beyond the point of repair if I have a security system?
Can a website (such as google) find out the mac address of a computer using it by storing the mac address in a cookie, then reading the cookie? Is it possible for a website to know more about who accessed it behind NAT aside from just your public IP address?
FBI pretty much did this through an exploit to catch Tor users. The exploit got the hostname and MAC-address, after that I assume they just looked up where the device with that MAC-address was sold and tried to identify the owner. This was an exploit though so during normal circumstances it's not possible.
>>59908287
What allowed this exploit in the first place and why is it no longer possible? Tor browser never used activeX or anything right so how did they get people's hostnames/macs?
afaik, they'd need some software on your computer to be able to do that. so if that website makes your os, browser, or file syncing software, then, yeah, they can grab it.
let's install some software!
i'm placing the CD-ROM into the CD tray, and pressing the 'open/close' button so the tray goes back into the computer along with the CD-ROM
Do it slowly.
Do it...sexy.
>>59908203
You forgot to install CD-ROM drivers from floppy disk.
update: the CD-ROM is making that humming sound inside the drive, and the drive access light is blinking on and off very quickly
