So ive been trying to revive my compaq laptop woth windows 7. Have run through various programs for cleaning, optimizing, virus scanners, etc, all after doing a complete and 100% factory restore. All the while, i have had zero issues with network connectivity.
Today i downloaded a couple free programs, comodo, IObit systemcare, clamwin and cyberghost which is being uninstalled.
Well comodo was having issues with the firewall service. Wifi was becoming shaky then started working fine again.
Restarted the laptop and comodos firewall was working fine, but now i can no longer connect to any wifi. I know its not the wifi itself because im posting this on my phone using said wifi.
Figured maybe its the firewall, so i shut it off and still nothing. Restarted again, and still...nothing. no wifi. Ive had this problem YEARS ago and i dont even know how it got fixed, it just started working again.
Any ideas? "Unplug it and plug it back in" is not what i want to hear. Or else id call comcast.

To point something out:
I was at my sister's for Easter. My nephew is a little over a year old. He has my sister's phone. He swipes it, opens up some PBS app and Elmo pops up and he turns it fuckin sideways. So tell me something, how is that a child who is not even 1 years old CAN LITERALLY use an android phone but some fat fucking gorilla who has had a computer since the 90s, who has had the time to learn it, respect it, and upgrade it, can't even figure out how the shit it works? I don't get it /g/ help me understand why old people can't learn shit.

So I have an i3-6100 cpu, and I just recently pirated Dark souls 3. Been playing it for a little while only to find out my CPU temp has been at 100+ the entire time.
I'm using stock fan and my idle temps are 50-60 which is the norm.

What does /g/ do or recommend to effectively wipe the free space on a SSD?
Is the only way to image the drive, factory wipe it, then restore the image? Pretty damn shitty.

Kaby Lake-X is going to be an old technology platform with two more cores. I did an OC today on my 1700X which brings it to 4GHZ and its single core is marginally better than a 7700k but with way more threads.
If you want Intel or AMD at that price point the only real argument is for Thunderbolt or maybe planning for 3D Xpoint. Right now the single core diff after an easy overclock is almost nothing and the price difference is massive.

Right click and choose "Block element". Once you do that a small box appear in the lower right of your screen. Click "create". Now refresh the website and the prompts disappear. It's a feature meant to be used. I also do it for prompts that I just find bothersome.
