So what's the point of Skylake-X? Its IPC is almost no different than Broadwell, its overclocking capabilities will be severely hampered by the overly large L2 caches running on the core clock domain, it only goes up to 12 cores while AMD's HEDT goes up to 16 cores.
It can't even boast the 4 channel memory when X390 has it as well.
The only thing I can think of is price, but Intel isn't particularly fast at offering good performance for low price if you take their 60% margins into account.

STOP IT NAO!
>>
>>60078951
The thing is, Skylake-X does have higher IPC than even Kabylake, but due to applications having been built for 256kb L2 caches for so fucking long, it doesn't really demonstrate it.

In any case, it's another JustWaitTM for DevelopersTM to get better coding practicesTM

Good luck

Also it's more of a server move, datacenter/HPC won't have much trouble rewriting their code for the newest memory hierarchy, since they do it every time they upgrade.

What OS has the best customization ?
I know there are ways to customize any OS but I am looking for one that has simple options without installing a lot of software to customize it

How come VIA doesn't make CPUs for mass market like AMD and Intel do? They have license to make x86 compatible CPUs, and could probably compete in entry segment at least
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>60078602
Because they know that x86, especially in entry segment, is finished.

VIA's modern chips are based on centaur designs which have always been shit for everyday use, there's no point in wasting billions trying to break into the consumer market when the embedded niche works out for you just fine

dumbshit

Kickstarter currently has a mobile game connected dildo for sale. They don't call it a dildo, and dress it up in language about strengthening pelvic muscles and such that I'm sure are true but don't change the fact that it's a fucking dildo that women stick in their vagina to play a game. It is, of course, being made by French people.

I am so goddamned done.

I have a Proxmox hypervisor server.

The server runs 6 Linux Containers currently, all have static IPs.

Server 106 has an nginx reverse proxy that proxies to servers 101 (nginx web server, port 80) and server 102 (media server, port 8127).

The nginx reverse proxy has https configuration properly set up for all of my domains and routes requests properly.

However, after about 12 hours of having this server running, it stops resolving my requests to the domains themselves from my LAN. WAN is always fine - never an issue. But if I try to connect to https://example.com from my LAN after an arbitrary amount of time, it just stops working. I can still access all servers via their ipv4 addresses.

What the fuck is going on? Any ideas?

sidenote: this was never an issue before configuring ssl support. I have double, triple, and quadruple checked the configuration - it's all correct. Like I said, accessing the sites works fine from WAN all the time, and work on LAN for a limited time.
>>
>>60078578
Try to assign ssl to a different port and see if it works for you.
>>
>>60078621
Would having it on default 443 cause a problem after an arbitrary amount of time?

Rusfag here. I've been wondering, what kind of hardware do people in US / Europe use? Which motherboard brand do you prefer (for any reason)? Which GPU do you use (AMD/Nvidia/Intel)?
Why do I need this? I've seen some builds on /v/ and here with ASRock and Asus mobos, even though in my experience, they have quite high failure rate, so I'm wondering

Not all of US is the same.
Not all of Europe is the same.

This question is redundant, there's a massive difference in mentality and salary, between West Europe and East Europe, as there is a massive difference between West US and South US
>>
>>60078530
There is way bigger quality difference between high end and low end hardware of one manufacturer than between manufacturers.
Asrock had the smoothest ryzen launch with overall good build quality, best (on paper) vrm on top boards and decent firmware.
Asus was best until 2010-2012 and some people believe that's still the case.
>>
Another ruskie here, I've taken a notice that amerifats have a strong affinity for shitty EVGA gpus, a most peculiar observation. I don't think they're any popular in Europe when compared to Asus or MSI.

How hard is it to make an app or some small electronic gadget that normies will like? (Not a game, maybe something innovative and useful but not necessarily a fantastic product)

Right now I'm in my senior year of mechanical engineering with a specialization in mechatronics, so I've got a bit of coding/electronics integration under my belt. I'd be working on it 10-12 hours a day for 4 months
