It is now April 28th, 2017
Ubuntu 12.04, and Linux Mint 13 are officially EOL
>>60109725
Yeah, use Fedora.
>>60109725
Fuck, I need to upgrade my mommy's laptop
>>60109725
Don't care. I'm typing this on a Fedora 26 laptop. It's not even at Beginning Of Life yet.
Not running it on my desktop yet, though. I want to see how many issues I get on the laptop first.
/pol/ite here, I have a chinese virus, very similar to the Israeli worm, but I have no idea how to get rid of this particular part of it
<-------
It's very very similar to the worm slowed by "WDCC" (windows door cleaner something else starting with c) which microsoft no longer archives so you have to look around on private sites for.
I say slowed because you still have the USB method of invasion to worry about.
If you've ever had those invisible ads playing in the background without a browser open, you've had it.
Install gentoo

You have to go back
Post your simple/stupid questions here rather than making a whole thread for problems that can be answered with 1 post.

So here is my question and waiting for any help :-(

So NAS or server?
NAS would be 660€ and a server like 900€ or more.
I can't connect to my server running mpd using MPDroid. These are the iptables rules I have:iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8000 -m conntrack --ctstate NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 8000 -m conntrack --ctstate ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 6600 -m conntrack --ctstate NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 6600 -m conntrack --ctstate ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT
Using telnet I get the following:
On port 6600 I get connection refused.
On port 8000 I am connected before the connection is abruptly closed by foreign host.
What am I missing?
dis a good telephone?
Fuck no
Screen is shit, battery is shit, customer support is nonexistant. Only thing going for it is that it's sexy as fuck. I had the gray metal/dark ash combo.
Buy a used 6P instead.
I own one, haven't had any issues with it and it's pretty good. At this point I'd probably just wait a few months for the new one plus phone though.
>>60109479
-screen is amazing
-Battery is way below average
-Can't read 1440p video on youtube because the snapdragon 808 is shit
-proc heating fast and a lot.
If you can get it for ~150$, why not.
So I got a free 2011 computer with no hard drive, what should I do with it?
>Put a hard drive in it
>Cannibalize the RAM into my existing computer and sell the rest
>Other
donate to a kid
>>60109460
Specs? You could probably use it as a fileserver or something.
FreeNAS the fucker after you get a new drive. Have some RAIDs and shit.
What is the best printer I can buy for $150 that can be used with Wi-Fi on all devices without any bullshit drivers or setup? It also needs to be reliable.
Brother are recommended often.
But for me I'd say HP since it will have driver for GNU/Linux.
Anything less than 150$ would be an inkjet.
>>60109800
>But for me I'd say HP since it will have driver for GNU/Linux.
Is HP the only ones that do this?
Also is it better to get an Inkjet printer or Laserjet printer? I need high-quality documents and sometimes small photos, but I won't be using the printer every day or every week and I hear that regular ink printers can clog up if you don't use them often.
>>60109911
Always go laser, inkjet is complete shit and will cost you more over time. Your right about it clogging up when not in use for a long duration. But it also happens sometimes for no reasons
Explain this shit

Is this the queen of /g/?

She's on a whole new spectrum of ugly.
>>60109101

>>60109272
Was there ever any doubt?
>buys this

>>60109026
The current FCC chair is literally a Verizon lobbyist. Who exactly would we lobby to?

I just want to relax this weekend after working like nigger all week
>>60108956
Ergo Proxy is an interesting show. its worth a watch, but its nothing ground breaking. plus there is a point where the plot time skips... likely due to lack of funds.
>>60109051
What about ghosts in the shell?
(haven't watched the movie either )

>>60108784
how do i use emacs

I want to embed some text boxes into html which are accessed by a basic text parsing script which converts a certain kind of C matrix into a certain kind of JSON array. would a java applet be best for this?
A more esoteric question which hopefully doesn't scare anybody off: has anybody written a tool which converts QMK/TMK keymap matrices into Keyboard Layout Editor JSON arrays? I know for most people here this would take 3 seconds to implement
these kind of posts are the equivalent of crackheads screaming incoherent garbage about gitmo and the cia at you on the street
is this board only about evil H1Bs and smartphone wallpaper now
